I’d really only recommend it if you’re off roading or planning on driving
with it completely disabled.
I forgot about it (being completely off) and accidentally did a 280 degree
burnout (mostly out of control ) in a big intersection early in the morning
w no traffic. Hit the curb and blew tire off the rim.
Just got a new duramax this year so we’ll see how this one handles when the
snow flies.
do i need this stupid stabilitrak if i live in southern california? the
service light for it has gone off twice and im sick of spending money for
it at the dealership. I have the 09 5.7L “LT model 2wd” thank you in

Keep the button held for another 15 seconds after stabilila Trac turns
off…it will turn off everything.
Have had the service traction/stabilitrak on and off again,going to try

Thanks for that I was wondering for years on how to fix this.
Unfortunately I have the 4.8 so even doing this, she still can’t or wont
kick them loose on pavement. I can get the started in gravel and roll onto
pavement but they wont kick loose on pavement.
These trucks are completely useless in the snow on 2wd models. I would
recommend anyone in the snow disabling this garbage, unless you like
sitting and spinning in 4″ of snow with brand new winter tires and 350lb of
weight in the truck.

I so agree with you. I rarely drive with T/C and Stabilitrak on.
Even on my 2012 Malibu, Traction Control and Stabilitrak kills drivability.
The accelerator won’t respond immediately. The car hesitates a couple of
seconds before it moves. When I back up, it feels like the tranny is
slipping. It also takes longer to brake. This s**t is downright dangerous.
I wish I could kill it permanently at least during warmer weather.
