Gary Rubino is my new favorite person in the world. Seriously: thank you
for doing this video.

michael perez says:

can you figure this out on a 2004 350z will appreciate it thank you,,,, if
you can email me back

joeydfromthepoc says:

Ok so I got a 2000 Pontiac sunfire the anti theft lift turns on then turns
off, I go to start the car but it just clicks. I thought the battery was
bad so I bought a new battery, same thing I thought maybe it was the cables
so I replaced the cables and both terminals still nothing. Final step I
drop the starter figure that’s gotta be it right? Nah took the starter in
had it tested and it tested good…. twice. The key I have doesn’t have the
chip built into it, it is just a regular key Idk sometimes it’ll start once
it starts it starts all day I let it sit over night and the next morning it
won’t start. Any suggestions?

Nestor Gonzalez says:

Will this work on an 99 s10???

Darrian Briscoe says:

Can I just change the Ignition switch instead of doing all that?????

James Beason says:

Hey man, I applaud you and thank you for this video. This is exactly the
fix that I needed for my 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. I was heading back to
my car after eating lunch with the girlfriend at Chikfila and the ignition
wouldn’t turn. Thought it was my battery at first, tried jumping it, no
difference. I thought I was screwed thinking it was either the ignition
switch or starter. Ended up having to push my car to the shopping center
parking lot by Chikfila so that I wouldn’t get towed. Next day, find this
video and sure enough, this is was what I needed. You’re awesome man, keep
it real.

Jeremy Rodgers says:

Can u clean with WD40 to

Shane Davis says:

i have a 2003 buick regal that i believe is having this problem but the
difference is my whole dash is flashing when i go to start the car. cant
move key to back position where only radio is on. i bought the right
resistors but cant locate the wires in your video. do you have any idea
what color or where they might be on my model. if you could email me back
davis93shane@gmail.com if your willing, that would be cool because i may
have more questions

patadegrillo007 says:

No different problem. Leave the key in on position for 30 minutes, to reset
the system, after 30 minutes it should crank and start the engine

patadegrillo007 says:

Anthony Johnson says:

What if my light stay on in my car when I put the key in is it the same
problem

dennis smallbone says:

Thank you for the help, greatly appreciated.

Roger Keyes says:

Whoops cut too many orange wires…..all is fine now

Roger Keyes says:

Do I need to reconnect the orange wire?

Roger Keyes says:

Ok your fix worked,BUT now my turn signals and back-up lights don’t
work…..also my abs light is on.How do I fix this problem?p.s. my fuses
are good

Gary Rubino says:

I would investigate that problem further before buying any after market
ignition, if the security light is staying on that maybe another problem in
itself. If you notice in this video the security light is off when the vats
is locking you out. Get a second opinion about this as I am unsure of what
the underline problem could be. My first check would be fuses and go from
there

dennis smallbone says:

Hey dude, I have a 90 Camaro doing this issue. I’d turn the key an my temp
gauge would twich an security light will stay on. I hear no fuel pump, no
starter ticks. Nothing. I was thinking about buying a aftermarket ignition
with with the VATS delete. Do you think this would possibly fix the issue?
Please reply,

nico cechet says:

hi I have a 90 trans am and I think im having the vats problem…if I try
to start the car wont start…now if I jump start it with a screwdriver in
the starter/solenoid it will start, also I notice that the purple wire on
the selenoid of the starter doesn’t get any 12v when I crank it…car was
starting fine before..was at the track it just stoped working…also by the
way my rear hatch stoped working at the same time this happen now it wont
relase or even open with the key.

transam arriaga says:

amigo dime los valores de las resistencias que utilisaste porfavor gracias
tengo el mismo problema con un firebird 94 3.4

Gary Rubino says:

If the light goes out and it still doesnt start, on the left kick panel
(assuming its like my trans am) there should be a black relay that controls
the starter side of the system, that could be bad. I would try there first,
if thats fine, check out the starter, look at the wiring if its tight or if
there is anything wrong with it.

Gary Rubino says:

Like I say in the video, if it has this key, it’ll work

Gary Rubino says:

If it has this key, follow the orange wire from the ignition switch

Gary Rubino says:

Go to radioshack and ask them for a pack of resistors, they’ll know what
youre asking for.

crimson kromer says:

I have a 91 camaro that is doing the same thing, i need help big time i
kinda understand ur video but i don’t kno what that stuff is u bought to by
pass the system

mirwais70 says:

Dude – I tried it.bought the resistors etc… mine came to .78 or
780OHMS… soldered 3 resistors together to the wire and hook it back up
(yes cut the orange wire).. the security light comes on and goes out (as
before), but the car still does not start… is there a relay i should also
be looking into? I have a 92 Camaro 3.1 RS. any help will be highly
helpful…

Demetria Hines says:

hi i have a 2001 pontiac grand prix having the same problem an i dont no
what wire to cut

Demetria Hines says:

so could you tell me what wire to cut

JGalvan Jr says:

Just messaged

Gary Rubino says:

youtube email should be fine

romita69 says:

hi do u know if this would work on a1997 pontiac firebird?

JGalvan Jr says:

Where can I email?

Gary Rubino says:

hahah Well the best thing I can tell you is compare my video to a few
others and if youre brave enough give it a try! The way I look at it, there
is no better way to learn than to just dive in and give it a go! Find the
orange wire get some slack to work with and make sure to wire the resistors
towards the side under the dash. If you’d like further help send me an
email 🙂

JGalvan Jr says:

This video looks extremely helpful but I am not mechanically inclined at
all so I’m having trouble understanding the connection of the resistors and
where to take the wires out from underneath. I know if I’m that lost in the
beginning stages I probably shouldn’t be doing it but you make it look so
easy haha. My 1993 cadillac deville’s security system is enabled.

Kevin Riley says:

worked great for 98 lumina…. Thanks! saved a bundle..! Dealer wanted an
arm and leg. Use a terminal strip and variable resistor… easy! You Rock!

Gary Rubino says:

I believe a 98 Cavalier doesnt have this chip, therefore Im not sure of the
method of how its done or even if it can. If someone has the answer to this
do feel free to chime in. Worst case you may have to take it to a dealer.
Good luck.

is the orange wire for all gm vehicles????
