When demand drops there will be lots of people who borrowed to buy a car to flip at a profit and then will get caught out. This happened at the end of the 80s if I remember correctly..
I’m sure that as long as they pay 10% to the ‘Big Man’ it will be OK.
When people are selling their cars too soon, it usually means they got a lemon and they are trying to get rid of it.
Doubly true for electric cars, with very expensive batteries.
And all GM is doing is trying to shed the responsibility for their defective products.
I remember a mate in the early 80's in the UK saying a mate of his bought a new Austin Allegro, it handled oddly bouncing about on the road. My mate had a look underneath and found the shock absorbers on the rear were missing…
They may make oil pan gaskets better now days but before glue they used cork and paper gaskets. they leaked bad!
those Jag v12s did not have enough cooling passages in the heads in the earlier models so they overheated.
Jag actually fixed that with the "Swiss cheese" heads that kept the heads cooler.

In my country the warranty is a state requirement , and absolutely nothing the manufacturer can do about this at all,
