something i didn’t see you mention ,watched all the way through, was to be
sure was to replace the brakes in pairs?

luthan woodward says:

could you just put the clamp on the piston or would that unlevel it

specialistofsomekind says:

This will never go viral, because it’s about GM. If every GM owner that has
a bad ignition switch would watch it, then there would be the possibility
of it becoming viral. In my opinion GM is no good, and it’s not worth
fixing!

Dale Myers says:

hello tool dude, i was an auto mechanic for quite some time. some steps i
take, make the disassembly easer…. knowing the rotors and pads are going
the way of the doh-doh bird. i put a long pry bar or big screw driver
between the pads and rotor. to depress the caliper piston….. break clean
and carb cleaner are different. carb cleaner has a light oil in it. so
throttle shafts and other moving parts don’t stick. that would be a bad
thing to have a mechanical carburetor part stop moving with it’s in the
opened position. lets just say throttle shafts…. as for the pry bar and
caliper part. when it’s still mounted and very stable it makes it easy.
when it loose. free from support holding in your hand and operating a clamp
to compress the piston. not as easy. i just thought the next time you need
to do a break job on your car. it will be easier for you to do so.
