My 03 Chevy cavalier pops out of 2nd and 3rd gear. Is this major and what
can I do to fix it?

ghtowagon says:

GM part is 1377083 Or dorman 74030 (which is cheaper priced than gm) No
idea on the spring. You might have to buy a Junk yard piece.

ghtowagon says:

@ziggassedup For less than $5! What a deal. Now I have a loose Saginaw tilt
column that needs repair! Never ends!

rob greene says:

Mine won’t go into park. It will roll on a hill.

ziggassedup says:

Nice easy and cheap fix.

ghtowagon says:

When the shifter linkage gets sloppy that could happen. That or the
threaded bolt that holds in the linkage piece seen in the video gets loose,
it can slide around and cause the shifter linkage to bind.

Josh Mallard says:

made this process 100 times easier for me thanx

Nice tip on how to keep straws. Typical of many good tips, stupidly simple
but effective.

djloinz1 says:

can you tell me what part# that is that your using and also by chance do
you know if dormain sells the spring that is also on the same bar with this
bushing? Im pretty sure I need both

desolatednightmares says:

I have a 72 Nova and my linkage is too close to the frame, it’s so close it
is rubbing and not shifting properly in the video at 2:26 where the bolt
goes on to hold the arm for the shifter the flat end is against the frame.
Is there anyway to move it out from the frame? The spring goes inside the
frame hole with a bushing.
