THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, it is obvious their torque specs when installing
this component were too high causing the plastic case to buckle and become
compromised!!!
This has to be a known problem by GM, mine was split the exact same way
which disabled my airbag. Brought to Chevy dealer, they wanted 450 dollars
+ 120 to diagnose the problem. They only got the 120 dollars out of me,
scumbags.

Good vid, did it myself just tonight. My problem is that the “check
airbag” message won’t go away on the little readout window.
I’ve unhooked the neg for 15 min, no joy. Did you do something special to
get the message to go away?

My service air bag sensor came on too I own a 2010 GMC Sierra 5.3 thx for
the video now I will go buy the 2 sensors at 170$ a piece and do it myself
one screw holds these in and a very stupid location this should absolutely
be a recall fuck what’s going on the gm
I am going to replace my driver’s side sensor in my 2005 Camry in a couple
days. I ordered the part today at the dealer. There was no indicator light
but I noticed this part hanging from a wire in my front wheel well. Upon
closer inspection, I saw the part label indicating it was the airbag impact
sensor and half of the holder still attached tot the frame with the single
bolt. I guess the holder just broke in half leaving the actual sensor
intact. It looked simple enough to replace. But I did not know if there was
any sort of programming required for the sensor. So thanks for the video.
