Thanks for this video! I have a 2004 Cadillac XLR and just got that dreaded CD Error msg. Looks like the same Denso 3 infotainment unit. The XLR forums said dealers were charging $1,600 to $3,300 to fix it! Although I installed a USA Spec iPod/iPhone interface for mp3’s, Internet radio, etc.), I’d like to get that CD changer working again, and now I’m pretty sure I know what I have to do!
Wonder if there’s any tweak that could be done to make it less likely to reoccur (lubrication, etc).
