Cuba Rodriguez says:

I have yet to read a complaint about the length Hiram! I think this
extended version is a hit! I personally really enjoyed it….and realize,
I have no two cents to add. ;)

David Smith says:

Hey you did a great job as usual. That wasn’t sloppiness that was the
reality of the transmission business. As you know you can make another
short video to cover the parts you may have missed. Overall a great step by
step assembly of this unit.

Chuck Norris says:

WE WANT THE ALLISON!!! Haha I remember when we did one of these, these are
pretty beefy 🙂

Innovative Solutions says:

This is the best 2 hours I have spent on YouTube in a long time Hiram.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. You give the novice and DIY guy
an idea of how much time it takes for the seasoned professional to do the
job. Many techniques used here apply to other transmission rebuilds. Great
info for the new and the experienced rebuilder. Next video, would you
highlight some of your tooling for us? I would like to see which brand and
style of snap ring pliers you like most and why. I would also like to see
more of the shop tooling and facilities too. I have the same issue with my
workbench lighting here. The workspace is well lit for the eyes, but not so
great for pics and videos. If you know anyone with a studio lighting kit,
such as an ARRI setup, invite them over for an experiment. Upload a 5
minute test video for comparison. Awesome work!

Here’s the 4L80E Transmission rebuild video. Sorry for the sloppiness at
the end but it really upset me to loose a big chunk of video That I believe
was very important. It was all valve body related with parts I install.
Anyways, i still think that it is complete, even with mistakes I made, you
guys wanted reality and no sugar coating so I left the mistakes in it.

احمد محمد says:

Yes Hiram its wonderfull video

dmorley100 says:

I can definitely second that statement at 42:30 about how it can take a
long time to install the pistons into their bores if you don’t have
practice at it. I still have the old reverse input drum out of the first
transmission I rebuilt so I can practice.

Teobaldo Silva says:

Incredible! your video, here in BRAZIL, no one shows a good job like yours
HIRAM … congratulations for your work, God bless you … thank you.

That was very thorough and enjoyable Hiram,Good job. We could use a 42re
rebuild if you have the time, there are none on the Tube.

Another great video! Lots of useable ideas here. Thanks Hiram!

dmorley100 says:

Sorry to say, but the Venture van is a front wheel drive van. Ain’t no way
a 4L80-E will fit in it.
