Hi again,
I took out all the wires & tightened them so they would fit more snugly on
the cluster pins. But now the Gear indicator doesn’t work at all,
everything else is fine. A week ago, I took out the cluster & resoldered
the I15 fuse. Do you know what this fuse is and where to get another one?
Thanks

Hi,
I’ve got ’03 Yukon, cluster has:
– dim gear shift display but sometimes get bright again for a short period
of time (I resoldered the small I15 fuse inside but it didn’t help any)
– when stops working, has only backlights that work all else is dead,
– then when I wiggle terminal everything starts up again for about a day,
– then goes back to just backlights only.
What do I do now? Anything I can fix?
Thanks for your help.

thank you so much for this post and the details. i did try and fix them
before watching this and messed it up and realized that i put the one wire

I have an 03 gmc 1500 sierra. Every now and the back lights in the cluster
work but the gauges do not. I give the connector a quick wiggle and the
cluster works fine. Do I have a bad cluster?

Robert Fickett says:

I just tried this repair in my 99 Sierra, when I plugged the cluster back
in it was still off. I continued to put the dash back together and cluster
still off only odometer and voltage gauge working. I then began to
repeatedly jab at the cluster face and it started flickering and came on.
The cluster seems to only stay on with presure applied to certain sweet
spots in the plastic face. Do I need a new cluster?
