How would I do this for my 1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE?

mille chemins says:

thank you

Registered Nurse in Sunny Florida says:

Any suggestions for a 2000 cavalier j body?

Ruben Morales says:

If you do the toggle, and try to start the car and it does not start, then
flip the toggle switch and attempt to start the car. When the car starts,
and while it is running, flip the toggle switch and leave it alone. It is
fixed UNTIL the battery is disconnected. If you disconnect the battery for
any maintenance, you just flip the switch, and start the car, then flip the
switch back. GM has this fixed documented for their Trucks with the
autostart feature, and if you search for that, you will find the technical
steps to do this. I had a 2001 Malibu and this solution worked awesomely.

Jorge Corona says:

Awesome !! Thanks and hope this make it work on my friends car ..

Gerardo Sosa says:

Janna Barnes says:

Thank you sooo much! This happened to me before on my 2005 Cadillac CTS..
Had it towed, then the repair people called me up they told me they didn’t
do anything they just charged it and it worked. When my ex picked it up it
still didn’t work. They called me the second time they said it worked. We
went there and it worked (didn’t pay for anything) that was Sept 2013 and
this weekend (Snow storm in va). Anti-theft just came up. Every time I do
somethine “Extra” for my car like clean it up. All I remember doing was
opening the door then turn the car on it wouldn’t turn on. I tried the 30
min one (10 mins x 3 etc).. removed the fuses, removed the battery, all
failed. Then your 2nd one fixed it. which is by the way what started it in
the first place (leaving the door open then start the car). Also I think
me carrying too many keys with my car key didn’t help. Again thank you sooo
much! Sorry for the long reply.

Eric Welch says:

Thank you very much and please pay no attention to the idiots that don’t
get it

If my stock radio on my 2002 olds alero is locked due to the anti theft
lock system will the last procedure maje my radio work again? We switched
out the module from a different alero which is what caused it to be locked.

Gene Warren says:

Thx really helped out

Donald Gerard says:

Just need some clarification. You must disconnect the negative battery
terminal before splicing the yellow wire and adding the toggle switch,
correct? Just asking because another video says that the car must be
running while this procedure is performed. Thanks!

luza azul says:

do you know how Deactivate the Anti-theft on saab 9-3

Andy Morales says:

it would have been nice if he would have explained it by voice!

Karmah's Law says:

I was stranded for 6 hours because my anti-theft is malfunctioning. I tried
the first 3 of your recommended options without any luck…the beast still
would not start. Luckily, 2 guys came along and this is what they did….
1. locked the vehicle with the remote, pressing the ‘lock’ button twice
until you hear the horn give a short beep 2. unlocked it with the remote 3.
started the vehicle PS – your link is no good. :/

jose barocio says:

i have a yukon and the security always been on but theres time that i could
start the vehicle but theres times when i cant any suggestions?

Nicole Reeves says:

I have tried all except the toggle switch. I would prefer to completely
disable. Can you provide a working link to instructions on how to
completely disable the Passlock Security System, please!! Thank you for
providing this! It is very beneficial information!

George Reid says:

Very good.

Boris Denis says:

I did exactly the same way you showed to install a toggle switch on my 02
Malibu, when I switch the toggle switch to OFF the Anti-Theft light comes
on, but the car will never start.I have to leave it at the ON position to
start the car. In your video you said “if you just cut off the yellow wires
in half without using a toggle switch, you will still be able to start the
car ……” Could you please let me know in my case why it does not work?
Thank you.

Steve Conte says:

I heard you have to get “spst” toggle switch; thanks for making this vid
too btw I can see the wire perfectly

MaroonBlack1 says:

why use a switch? can’t you splice the wires together, or use a resistor?

Boryckua says:

Thank you, very helpful. Happy holidays!
