2003-06 gm instrument cluster prnd321 & DIC fix no programming needed for odometer and vin info

This is the don mecca of all cluster gm cluster repair vids. All repairs have been done to this beast. Lights, stepper motors, prnd321 display, DIC display, and the odometer reading has been moved from one board to the next without any programming. I credit other videos on you tube for help. But seriously pulled one out of my *** to make a $25 fix instead of buying a $300 part that still needed to be programmed.

Derek Simenac says:

junk yard cluster is just delaying the inevitable because they all have bad solder jobs, stepper motors is not the main concern with them

Wow I just found your video and it was exactly what I wanted the chip with the programming mine is an Atmel4 68558B Eprom microchip. This is awesome, thanks if you're still around

Great video. Almost spent tons of money sending it out to someone off ebay to fix this problem for me I spent $35 doing it myself by just buying a solder equipment. Didn't think it would work and it did. Thanks a ton buddy.

Hello, are the turn signal bulbs the same as the back lighting bulbs?

I bought a 2003 Yukon 2 months ago. No probs with gauges or display until today. I was watching the real-time estimated mileage coming home from a trip & the DIC suddenly went blank. Got home checked some fuses, made sure everything else was working. So far it seems only DIC/PRND is out. I mean it went from working to blank as I sat there and watched it happen. What's my best approach to diagnosing this fault? No experience removing the cluster, etc but motivated to fix it quick. 4WD has been on the fritz, hate not having the DIC to let me know it is acting up. Thank you.

I followed your instructions and put my Eprom chip from my 04 dash to an 03 dash unit. Now the odometer reads 0 miles (it was all kilometres before). How do I fix this?

Daniel McElhiney says:

awesome video bro thanks alot for the information that will come in handy if I have to get a new cluster and my pnrdl light is getting really dim so I know now where to look and how to fix it. I would like to put brighter bulbs in as well but I'm not sure where to get them iv go some from ebay before for an s10 but they were crap so I'll keep searching or if you have any ideas love to hear what you got thanks again.

do you know what actually powers the DIC? my 05 denali intermittently works. I can tap the cluster sometimes and the DIC will work. Half of the time it won't.
