Mine lasted less than a week, so my thought is that the fan is pulling to much power. I had replaced the fan a couple years ago with one from NAPA. I will be replacing it with a GMC fan and new resistor. Napa fan was a bit cheaper, but it always made a lot more noise and when I replaced the resistor the motor was pretty hot.
My 2005 Colorado’s resistor went bad twice in 2 years. The last repair lasted 6 days. It is always speed #3 that gets fried along with the $41.00 wiring harness. No wonder Toyota is eating their lunch.
Do you know the part number for tge resistor
@DACHSCHUND1 The resistor is located on the HVAC housing next to/near the blower motor itself. Its under the hood, passenger side,up in the corner behind the reservoirs.
would the resistor be in the same location on a 98 asrto?
