i have a 98 dodge ram, and I have noticed my filler neck needs replaced,
its leaking right behind the cup where you put the pump nozzle. My question
is,, does it matter how full/empty the tank is to replace the filler neck?
I know dumb question, iv never done anything with the gas tank/filler neck
before.

I’m a big safety guy, using a cutting wheel throwing sparks near a fuel
tank is not a good idea. Please be careful I don’t want to hear about an
explosion.

Great video thinking about attempting to do on my 2000 olds intrigue.
Mechanic didnt bother to do it when he did my gas tank 2 weeks ago and its
leaking everywhere now. He wanted 210 for part alone thats snowed into
buffalo right now. I found myself 65 on amazon 75 advanced auto with
discount. Thanks again for making my choice much easier

Thanks for posting this, I’m about to do one on a Subaru. Did you have to
grease the end of the pipes, to get them to go into the hose? How come gas
didn’t leak out, when you pulled the filler neck out of the pipe? did you
run the vehicle til it was on empty?

Thanks for the video! I’m preparing to replace a fuel neck in my 1986
F-150. I wasn’t sure how to go about doing that. Your video was very
helpful.

Also – hey, I was listening to how you talk – are you in Louisiana? Just
wondering.

Bruce Hampton says:

Shouldn’t the rubber hoses be replaced as well? What does it take to change
them also?

That seems cool and informative! I hope it works the same for a 2001 Dodge
Neon R/T

My mechanic just told me this is a 500$ repair because of all the labor??
Doesn’t seem like it…this seems like not much labor at all! Thanks for
the video.

Did anybody ever tell you that you sound just like Samuel L. Jackson?
Anyway, I came across this video bcuz I’m having problems filling my gas
