When my car coasts (no gas being applied) or i’m braking my car is smooth
as a camry no vibrations. Once I press the gas or I’m just sitting still
idling my entire car vibrates really bad. Does have misfire in cylinder 4,
but are these symptoms of bad motor mounts?
On an ’01 Toyota Camry do i need to remove the dog bone mount on before
jacking up the engine?
Do you recommend replacing all of them and the “v” rubber bracket type
mounts on the side too?
Thanks Scotty, love the vids
Safest place to place prybar?
Ive got a 68 impala SB with a broken drivers front mount. Where do you
recommend for the jacking point on the motor?
Thanks Doebs
Hello Mr.Kilmer,
I have a 2007 Avalanche and was told both left and right mounts are busted.
I looked for the parts and only found one. Is there not a difference
between the left and right mount?
Scotty, I was told that my engine mounts are bad but not which ones were
bad. I believe my 97 Mitsu Galant ES has 4 of them between the tranny and 3
on the engine. I get one indication of a problem when I accelerate up to
speed but goes away when I get into cruise control. The sound I get is like
that when you use cheap gas in a high end motor, that knock knock knock,
like bad lifters. Is this a sign of bad mounts? FYI, I use decent gas and
Lucas Injector cleaner on a regular basis to rule out engine knock. I’m
trying to extend the life of my car but my mechanic doesn’t seem to want to
do anything else I need done(buy a new car, he says)! With 284k on her I’d
like to get more. What are your thoughts?
My car only make noises when I am slowing downing or in no motion, is that
a sign of a damaged motor mount?
May I ask why the he’ll I just paid 590 bucks for them to do this at the
shop?
Scotty does it matter if you put the vehicle on jacks or would you
recommend not too when replacing front motor mount
where is the best place to jack up the engine?
Awesome video, like the enthusiasm. And it helped me a lot, keep up the
good work.

I tried to replaced the 2 front ones in my silverado but I couldn’t do
it,,, can someone help…
also if i was to try to take out the broken bolt. what would be the best
way to do that?.
I love him.
great video!
how doI replce the motor mount on the passenger side of a 1998 audi
Scotty, is there anything special you need to do to align the motor in
there other than just using a jack to force it into place? My 2002 Mazda
Protege5 has 4 mounts and I’m guessing with 4 points there’s a lot less
misalignment allowed.
Also, what do you think of aftermarket mounts made by off-brand companies
like DEA, etc?
i kind of stuffed up when i was trying to change the mount. the top left
bolt on the mount bracket that connects to the engine broke of :(. my
question is, is it o.k if the mount bracket only have 2 bolts to the
engine?. i don’t want the hassel of trying to take out the broken bit if i
don’t need to. does missing the top left bolt on the mount effect
anything?
hey scotty i have a 05 corolla that the engine is vibrating now. I replaced
the head gasket because they say that could have been the prob. any ideas
what the prob might be.
All my motor mounts are goners but do they cause clunk noise when accel on
a turn? Mine was making that sound and I was thinking it my be my AT.
