Video was a huge help. But like a previous comment it’s a pain in the ars. I understand the time savings using rivets on the assembly line but come one. Punching a river out through glass. That’s a no. This was my driver door on my 2002 Crown Vic LX Sport. I have a 2005 Grand Marquis Ultimate I think one of the regulator’s is acting up on it too. Now I know what to expect.
DO NOT USE BOLTS IN PLACE OF RIVETS WITH THE GLASS BUSHINGS. IF YOU OVER TIGHTEN, EVEN SLIGHTLY, YOU WILL SHATTER THE GLAS.
I just finished mine on my 07 driver side window, and found that the old regulator failed because the whole cable came apart! The rivets in the glass werent hard to knock out, but the ones in the door were another story. Also learned the hard way the longer bolts through the glass are a must, as the shorter ones are not long enough
The inside widow bolt is very difficult to put back in. Access is limited.
Your video is awesome it helped me a lot and I love your parts thanks for your help
This video keeps on giving… 8 yrs later. My elder parents have a 2003 Crown Vic. Video helped me replace the regulator and save them several hundred dollars in labor. 10mm bolts were way to big but 1/4-20 bolts did great. Thx for the video directions.
Is this the same process for a Crown Vic p71?
So do you guys sell a hardware kit for this?
Great idea replacing the window rivets with bolts. I didn't even think about that. Here I am trying to source those rivets.
What size nuts and bolts were used?
I can't move my window up. I've cut the cable already. It's stuck in down position. How do I move it up to get the window rivets? It won't budge at all
What a pain in the ass. Yikes.
