Danny Price says:

The dpfe on my 2002 focus mounts the same way. but it looks like the mounted type without the bolt holes, with the oblong connector. I can’t use the cheaper part because their connections aren’t the same. What was Ford thinking?

Dave says:

I would suggest using a mini needle-nose plier to remove the piece that broke off in the rubber tube. Also, DO NOT use PB Blaster on rubber tubing unless you don't mind destroying the rubber. Use 100% silicone. You can also use o-ring grease like commonly used in swimming pool pumps. Other lubricants can react with and "eat" rubber.

I replaced this on my 2002 mustang (v6) and it wouldn’t start afterwards, so I had to put the old one back on, but I still have the check engine light. Any tips?

I've got a 2003 ford taurus; on the back side of the engine there's a part that has melted, and it being messed up makes the exhaust very loud; there are two holes where the hoses go in, and it sucks air, if I put my finger on the holes the exhaust gets quiet; what is this part called…?? Help!!
