I have a 96 Ford explorer. My driver side door, handle is loose but still able to open my door. Is there an easy way for me to tighten it or would I have to remove panel?

Thanks for the video, good job. Wish you would have given some explanation on what exactly was the problem with the door handle on the video before replacing it. Not sure if I need to replace my handle or maybe it needs adjusting. It looked like from your video that the rod coming from the handle to the plastic clip could be adjusted which makes me wonder if that's the issue with mine.. My door opens fine it just that the handle itself has a bunch of play in it. Hate to buy a new door handle and get into it just to find out that the rod just needed adjusted.

Frank Mata says:

you can use button head screws with some lock nuts.

Will this method work on a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis as well? The original handle is fine and still installed but the rivets fell out and now the handle is loose and not held in place
