I have a 2001 Mercury Cougar and the doors won’t lock and then unlock.
I did three remotes and all three cycled the locks off/on on/off to confirm
programming was complete. However the third remote only worked once to
confirm programming complete but it does not work now and neither of my 2
original remotes work now
This procedure did not work for my 2001 Navigator 3 button remotes. There
is a détente between the Off and Run detents. I turned the key directly
from off to run then between that detent and run 8 times. That worked
immediately
It will work on the 2006 Fusion, but the 2007 and up Fusion requires a
different set of programming instructions, which we include with remote/key
purchase. Unfortunately, we do not have a video tutorial for the 2007 and
up Fusion at this time.
Would this work on my ford fusion plz answer
Thanks for sharing this
All buttons should work after programming. You may have a defective remote,
or the car just may not have the ability to remotely control the rear
window.
Thanks… it worked perfectly!!! the rear window doesnt open but everything
else works just fine!! thanks again!
I am not sure what that is. We only sell factory keys and remotes.
The doors should all be closed. You might try rebooting the car by
disconnecting the car’s battery for about 15 mins, then reconnect and try
the programming again. If that does not work, there is probably an issue
with the remote.
Yes, this should solve the problem. If not you might try rebooting the car
by disconnecting the car’s battery for about 15 mins, then reconnect and
try the programming again. If that does not work, there is probably an
issue with the remote.
Sometimes it will and sometimes it won’t. Some of the PIs are not equipped.
Call the dealer with you VIN to see if equipped.
thanks, will try that!! tell you soon how it did
i cant get the escape 2001 to enter program mode…. its the door open??
thanks
No problem. I am glad we can help with those free remote programming
instructions. Please like us on Facebook.
@DarylFernquist – I found it…it is on page 166-167 of the Lincoln 2010
MKT manual.
This works great on my 2000 Ranger. Thanks for video
I have a 93 ford thunderbird but I don’t have the remote. It’s just the
keypad on the driver side door is there any way to reset it with out me
having to go to the dealer?
You’re welcome. Glad we could help.
will this work on a 2009 crown vic police intercepter ?
1. Turn the ignition key to “ON” or “Acc.” (NOT RUNNING) 2. Open the trunk.
Look to the left side, “programming connector,” which you may have to lower
the lining to see it. It is a small piece with two wires leading into it.
It will have two insertion points or pins. 3.Press one button on remote to
program. The locks will cycle to confirm its programmed. 4. Turn the key to
“Off.” The locks will cycle again to confirm that you exited the
programming mode. Remove the wire from the trunk.
As I understand it, newer Fords/Lincoln/Mercuries it’s 8 times (stop at
“run” on the 8th time; on older Fords/Lincoln/Mercuries it’s 5 times. On my
’96 Crown Vic (stop laughing, it’s paid for), it’s 5 times.
I don’t know what to say! Thank you, you made me laugh at my friend who
spent $60 on one remote. I did my 2008 Ford Focus costed me $7.18 for
remote purchase. Thank You brother, you rock.
You’re welcome. Glad we could help. Please like us on Facebook if you have
the chance. Thanks.
In order for the transponder chip in your key to work to start the car you
will have to take it to a Dealer or an Automotive Locksmith for programming.
Unfortunately, the instructions for the 1999 Contour are different. We do
supply those with purchase.
@LusionHD Hey, what do you mean with Central Locks ?
work great on my 2009 ford mus and on my old 2007 thank you for the post.
save me some cash, thank you for posting

This sounds closely related to a problem I have. I have a 1999 Taurus, a

Thanks for the tip !!!! very helpful
Thanks I tried it and it worked on a 2002 Ford Taurus.
Thank you so much! Your instructions were clear and concise. I also
programmed 2 remotes successfully on my 2001 Taurus. Tip for multiple
remotes: After you have turned ignition on/off 7 times and leave on at # 8,
set all remotes, and then turn off the ignition.

Yes, this will work
