When I use my rear wiper, it works fine on low, but when I turn it on high,
it ends up dropping below the window and then it won’t come back up until I
manually move the wiper arm onto the window. It looks like the splined end
shaft on the wiper motor is stripped. Would that cause this problem? And if
so, can I just buy that shaft or do I have to buy the entire motor.

Keith Goetting says:

Thanks guys! !

threnners says:

Does this work the same for the 2006 explorers?

how do i replace the wiper spray motors? wipers work fine but no spray and
not pluged i think

PMitchell106 says:

Also for those who have never replaced a wiper arm before, you may want to
mark the windshield with dry-erase marker around the end of the old wiper
before putting the new wiper on to help you make sure that it’s lined up
exactly where the old one was, you don’t want it to be too high as the
blade could go past the edge of the windshield. Thanks for the post!

1A Auto Parts says:

Unfortunately we are working on videos for other vehicles but we can put
this on the list for later on.

1A Auto Parts says:

The rear wiper should be the same concept except it might be slightly
harder because of the distance from the glass to the arm end is a bit short
to put a large wiper on. You best bet would be to find a small enough one
where you don’t have to bend it to replace it.

ohmr431 says:

what about the control arm that connect the wiper to the motor. on my
vehicle (98 explorer) the wiper control arm slipped off the “ball and
socket”. is there an easy way to fix this?

Garry Beatty says:

Do you all have a vid on how to replace the wiper transmission?

1A Auto Parts says:

The concept is the same but the nuts holding the arms down are possibly
going to be different for the 2006 compared to the 1998 model.

1A Auto Parts says:

If they attach the same way, then this video should help you out.

Great tip! Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

thank that saved me some money

colher987 says:

how do you do the rear wiper arm?

1A Auto Parts says:

If it won’t stay together, it might need a new wiper transmission linkage
assembly.

TheCeazeoNe says:

I own a 2003 Explorer and the passenger arm looks fine, the spring looks
ok, but there is a slight lift in the center of the blade and it doesnt
sweep the rain water off at all. Do I need to replace the arm? I have brand
new blades as well.

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video with this particular repair.
We’ll keep this request in mind during any future repairs that we may make
on this vehicle.

Antoinette D says:

excellent video. I replaced mine and saved myself $55.00 in labor because
of you!! Thank you so much.
