Nichole Rush says:

how do I know if I need a new regulator? Is that the only issue that could
cause my window to come up crooked? My window is coming up uneven, but it
is also curving inside towards the car as well.

Bogdan Tkachuk says:

thank u for ur help, infirmation should help fix my window

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the power going to the window motor to see if there’s

My 2003 Convertible Mustang has 4 windows, but the one on the backseat is
not working, the other 3 are fine, i saw a disconnected cable but i
couldn’t find where to plug it, do i have to get the cable from the front
door or what?

tomminger7 says:

Excellent video! Finally someone with brains to know that when a power
window stops working it’s not always in the up position and definitely not
operable. Every web site I looked at had you put the window up or down.
Nothing said about what to do it if the window did not operate. Your step
by step explanation was easy to under stand and included problems you might
encounter and how to fix them, and each step was in the exact order it
should be done. Thank you. I will definitely use 1aauto.com

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the power window motor, and also check the wire
harness in the door for a broken or frayed wire in the door. 1aauto.com

the window motor may be worn out.

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Bill, If you go to your local auto body supply store, they should have
the correct glue to attach you window correctly to the regulator. hope this
helps you out.

TiffanyF82 says:

This video was helpful for the most part but I have a bit of a problem. The
part of the regular that’s attached to the bottom of the glass window has
detached from the window in my car. So the window is kind of floating
freely in my door. With that off the regulator, I attempted just set my
window in those rubber cradles due to the rain so I can have my window up
and it broke one of the arms as I rolled it up not knowing it wasn’t
aligned properly. So now I have to replace the regulator, with t

Andy B says:

Thank you!!! The install sequence and what to look out for were spot on. I
watched the video paused and did the work. The front runner came apart and
I got it together excactly as you said. Great!!!

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to compare it to the other door panel to see if there’s a
piece missing. It should be set-up the same way.

Justin Cunningham says:

is this the same procedures as a 98 Mustang?

Louisrph says:

Thanks dude I repair my window so fast and easy lol well it was easy at all
but your video helped me 🙂

1A Auto Parts says:

You may need to bend them back out if you reuse that part.

FordSVT1313 says:

If you come across a older 5.0 say 88 please make a video. Im having
trouble replacing my passenger window motor

Luis Dominguez says:

I tried doing it my self but failed badly, I pulled the plug and broke, I
bent the harness, and ended up scratching my door when i tried to pull the
window out. So took the car to a small shop and ended up paying for them to
just do a quick fix n go thing that came apart within a week. But after
this vid ill fix myself. Question, could you help me with replacing the
driver door? It wont close properly, like it is not aligned so i have to
slam it to close? I really dont know what to do?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to take the door panel off and check to see if anything has
become loose or disconnected from the window regulator.

Helder Carvalheira says:

I followed the instructions on this video and the replacement went very
smoothly. Excellent work, guys! I did find that the window came off the
front track during the replacement, but with a little rocking and
positioning of the window I was able to get it back on the track. Thanks
for your help!

Andrew King says:

Your video was very informative, it helped me pull and install a
replacement window. i only have 1 issue…when i lower the window with the
power button, the front drops first 1/4 to 3/8 inch before the back
follows, then all is well, when it goes back up, near the top as it seats,
the front seats a little higher. otherwise, works well.

1A Auto Parts says:

@rgv2006tx You may want to take the door panel off of the door and see if
there’s some type of adjustment to lower them.

1A Auto Parts says:

They should be in the fuse box. You may want to check the owners manual to
see where it’s located in your car. Usually they are under the dash on the
drivers side.

Michael Main says:

my window is stuck in the Up position.. i have replaced the motor on both
driver and passenger side! passenger side works but driver side does not!
Any Suggestions?

Champion Heart says:

Do you have a video for installation of the driver side power window motor
for a 1999 ford Mustang?

Skip M says:

Just did my first window regulator ever on a Mustang today at work. Not
sure if the initial cause of the window regulator snapping was due to the
front window guide unglueing itself from the window or just regular wear
and tear. Irregardless, I had to reglue the forward most window guide back
to the window. Not an expert but my best guess is that it is key to lift
the window evenly or risk raising the window and letting go of the window
and put the entirety of weight on the forward most guide

1A Auto Parts says:

Everything should have lined up correctly. You may want to contact the
company that you purchased the part from so that they can check to see if
you received the correct part.

rgv2006tx says:

how do you suppose or what do you suppose i do to fix my power windows that
lift up too high that i cant close my doors..in other words i have to tap
down and lower my window down about half an inch so they close..it just
gets annoying. Please help 1auto!! a how to video would be great; im sure

There will be new ones on the new regulator.

kotagrey says:

If the window is stuck in the UP position, Can you still get to the Tab
Stops (8:12)? If not what method do you use?

1A Auto Parts says:

You can bend them back into position for the new part.

1A Auto Parts says:

Yes it would be the same for the for the drivers side. Yes the window motor
will be attached to the regulator when you buy it, Part Number: 1AWRG01274
for the drivers side on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Andrew King says:

i just replaced mine. i would check that you don’t have the upper bolt in
tabs pushing to hard on the window which would push it away from the seal.
i ran mine through a touchless carwash, no leak on replaced window.

1A Auto Parts says:

If they’re the ones at the bottom of that doors that you’re referring to,
this video will also show you how to take the door panel off so that you
can get at them.

jhsouth50 says:

Thanks for this vid. I had to take out my speaker so I could get to motor
and regulator out but besides that everything went GREAT.

jrb322340 says:

Does anyone know what’s wrong with my car door or window if when I try to
roll it down it goes crookedly down and it seems like it’s out of place.
What do I need to get replaced?

Late Freight says:

Thank you for this video I had no assistant, but managed, You guys rock,
Will definately recommend you to my fellow peers

Bill Presnell says:

My passenger side window had intermittent contact. In the process of
troubleshooting I found the wiring harness had cracked insulation on 5
wires inside the rubber boot that connects the harness from the door to the
fuse box inside. Since I had to pull the door panel off I discovered my
window is also unglued in 2 spots. I also have a convertible and the window
has been getting caught on the top. Can you tell me if you took your car to
a glass repair shop, dealer or regular mechanic?

Tyler Sosh says:

Just replaced my window regulator/motor. Thanks 1AAuto for this wonderful
video which definitely helped me replace this.

1A Auto Parts says:

You could try to put a little bit of white lithium grease on the window
regulator track to free the window up.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to have an auto body shop take a look at it to see if it just
needs to be adjusted. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Pollo Lopez says:

will it damage anything if took out the rivets and replaced them with a
small bolt and nut?

Corey Bing says:

i have a 99 mustang and the window won’t go all the way up or down anymore
but you can hear a “knocking” or “clunking” noise inside when you try it.
the window itself is completely loose inside the door. i can just grab it
and pull it up or push it down almost like it might just be off the
track??? it falls by itself when i start to drive. is the cause for the
problem the window motor and regulator?

kotagrey says:

My window is stuck fully up also. Could you tell me how you got it down? I
was told I may be able to tap on the motor to get the window down. Thanks

Tim Shaw says:
