I was looking around on your website but couldn’t find a fuel rank for my
93 ranger as I suspect the upper seam may have cracked as well. Any idea
where I could get one? Thanks

Sean E says:

My 96 ford escort is leaking from the rubber, which is crack and distorted,
any idea what that part is called or if it’s an easy home fix?

1A Auto Parts says:

You should not have to remove the bed to access the filer neck to remove
it.

skeleman1963 says:

my sons 95 ranger failed smog due to this problem. how do you know if you
need to replace the whole filler neck?

notrohman says:

7 foot 94 ranger filler and hose cracked closest to the tank. can feel but
can’t see. remove the bed or drop the tank to get to it? thanx

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to see if it’s leaking from the tank or the filler neck.

Murry25 says:

Nice video! My 79 Ranger smells of fuel every time I fill up. This just
might be the fix! Thank you.

1A Auto Parts says:

If there’s a leak in the filler tube you should replace it.

1A Auto Parts says:

@fred58 If the filler neck has developed a crack in it. You can replace it
just like the video shows. You do not need to drop the gas tank. We sell
new ones for your vehicle on our website 1aauto.com with free shipping in
the USA.

Brittney Head says:

I have a 99 Ford Ranger, Would this be the same procedure to install a new
filler neck? I just wanted to make sure before I dive into this project.

1A Auto Parts says:

@Murry25 Thank you for watching our Ford Ranger filler neck repair video.

Bmackins94 says:

i have a 1990 ranger when i am over a quarter of a tank the check engine
light comes then when i am at or a below a quarter of tank its off any
suggestions

bikr1975 says:

would a clogged evap line cause gas fumes to be forced out past the gas
cap?? ive actually made an airtight seal between the cap / filler neck and
still you can visibly see fumes pouring out if you look at the area just
right. not fun, if theres a leak in the filler neck, can it be temporary
sealed with J.B. Weld?? how can i run a secondary evap line to replace the
clogged one if needed?

1A Auto Parts says:

If it’s leaking gas from the tube that goes into the gas tank, it’s called
a fuel filler neck. We carry them our website for the 1.8 4 liter Ford
Escort Part Number: 1AFMX00101 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

wolfyhound says:

For the whole tube? Not just the neck of it, but from filler to tank, the
whole tube? Thanks so much!

Gerard Cloud says:

is this kinda the same procedure you would use on a gmc sierra

welding2013 says:

I have a 92 ford ranger 2.3 liter and it leaks gas when refueling. What is
the easiest fix?

1A Auto Parts says:

There may be only a few bolts that hold it in place.

1A Auto Parts says:

@Murry25 HI, you should just be able to hold the inner tube with one hand
(so that you do not disturb it to much), and twist and pull on the outer
one with the the other hand. It should break free for you.Hope this helps.

cdonlan155 says:

I got a leak exactly where the filler neck and hose meet, i dont know if
its the hose or the neck maybe i should try tightening the clamp

MrGleadr says:

how much more difficult is it to remove the bed of the truck

1A Auto Parts says:

You may be able to apply some of the basic steps taken in this video to
your application. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

You might want to have a qualified garage take a look at if for you, so
that they can see what’s going on with it and narrow it down for you.

skeleman1963 says:

ok…thanks. awesome “how to” video !!

1A Auto Parts says:

You will most like be required to have the vehicle pressure tested and
smoked to see exactly where the leak is before the mechanic can say for
certain that the fuel filler neck is the issue.

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be a bad sending unit in the gas tank.

Murry25 says:

How much did you pull on the inner tube?? I’ve removed mine and the inner
tube is about two inches from the outer tube. So..how much can I yank on
the inner tube w/o pulling it out on the other end??? BTW I ordered the
part…super fast shipping! THX

wolfyhound says:

Is there a video of replacing the entire filler tube? Would I have to pull
the bed off to do that? Thank you so very much, your videos really take the
mystery out of repairing a vehicle!

eddiequest4 says:

Yes- the filler neck began to split on my 97, also. It was a bad design.
The trick for me was to remove the 6 long bolts holding the bed on. Then I
raised one side and propped it in MANY places. Then I could see that the
split in the hose was occurring right at the top of the gas tank. I would
suggest NOT removing that tank, as it is a ROYAL pain in the .

Well done video!

i have a 1989 ford ranger and its leaking gas but i cant tel where from as
i can hardly get up under there, i can see gas running down the front, left
(driver) corner of the gas tank, any ideas before i go through the trouble
of dropping the tank and checking EVERYTHING?

great vid thanks. i think your prices are excellent also.

direwolfgirl97 says:

thank you so much for this! it was so helpful : ) just wondering: 1) how
much this whole operation costs and 2) is this a typical repair one might
find in a 1999 Ford Ranger? hope to hear back soon, thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

@notrohman It would probably be easier to drop the tank. I would burn off
as much gas as possible first so that it’s lighter when you take it out.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the fuel filler neck, it’s a common thing to go bad.

pal98111 says:

Several years ago my 94 ranger had this problem. The ford dealer charged me
$700 for a while new gas tank. Now it has started again. This should be a
recall item on the truck.

communicashun says:

great vid thanks.
