what about a 1994 ford ranger, I took off both panels, but can’t locate
ignition switch
There is not. You need the rod to push out for it to start.
You may have to trace the wiring to see if there’s a wire touching a piece
of metal somewhere or that could be possibly corroded causing it to short
out.
Do y’all have a video on how to replace ignition lock
For the 1993 it might be similar. Unfortunately we do not have that model
year around to check it out so it might require you to remove the steering
wheel so you can pull it out.
The switch is going to be located right behind the key cylinder.

I am bypassing my ignition switch in my 1995 Mazda B4000. Because the
plastic rod inside my steering column broke and I can’t shut it down
without pulling the fuse. My question is, on my switch, which wire is
which. Google is no help.

I have a 1995 Ford Victoria Police Interceptor. I believe the Ignition
Actuator Rod needs replaced. I have replaced the Ignition Switch, Ignition
Lock Cylinder and the Ignition Relay Switch. My question is, is there a way
to bypass the Actuator Rod and get the car to crank? Thanks!
@1aauto thanks i already replaced it. this video was helpful it was just a
little different i had to drop the steering wheel but it was still quick
and easy repair ,thanks again this video gave me the confidence to do it my
self

radio/clock stays on even when the key is removed sometimes.
How do you know if your switch is bad i have a 2002 ford ranger 2.3 4 cyl
and it will start fine but ever once and a wile it woint start at all and
if you wiggle the switch a little bit it will start i put a brand new
battery on. Thanks

future. They usually aren’t to hard to fix. A Haynes or Chiltons manual
should show you how to make this repair and where it’s located on your

is the ignition switch on a 93 ford ranger in the same place? Does it have
a cover over it as well? Do you by chance have a picture?
It sounds like something in the switch may be worn or loose, which could
cause the vehicle not to start until you wiggle the part and those pieces
make contact again.
There could be a draw or an issue with the radio itself too. You may want
to look at it.

I have an 96 madza b2300. i pulled the key out of the ignition an the
steering wheel did not lock and the engine did not shut off. would
replacing the ignition switch be my solution?
i replaced the starter switch bought a new battery and it still woint start
it will start 90 percent of the time but when it woint start all you got 2
do is hit the steering coluim and it will start right up i took it to a
lock smith and he said it could be a bad antenna he made me a brand new
transponder key
@TheMcfooly Can’t remember doing one on a 91 Explorer but I would not be
surprised if it was a very similar process.
@dpl1108121 This is the ignition switch. The ignition module should be
located on or around the distributor.

It sounds like there could possibly a frayed wire in the column. If the
truck starts when you hit the column, there could be a loose or frayed wire
in there.
