In some countires you are not allowed to install AUX lights with a switch
like that, it have to be linked to the highbeams or similar

Relays can handle a higher amp load than just a switch alone. If you were
to use a rocker switch that can only handle 10-15 amps with a light that
pulls 20 amps, then the switch will typically melt. Most auxiliary lights
are going to be over the switches amp load. So bring in the relay!

this may sound like a stupid question but its a legit question. Why do you
need the relay? Can’t you just run it straight from the batter with a fuse
installed on it and a switch?
