Do you also remove the plastic part behind the headlight?

SupertrampPromo says:

Normal*. And to be more specific in the video the air filter is still but
on my friends truck it’s rattling

AnthonyJ350 says:

I don’t think so. You can also get their pre-charger filters ( I run one)
which is basically a condom for the filter element, which is meant for
really dusty applications. I just use it so I don’t have to clean my filter
as often. If I’m not mistaken the K&N filter was also originally designed
to be used in desert racing applications.

Steve Rob says:

well done !! Nice to see that engine bay so clean.

Mark Known says:

will this product work on 2011 2.3l?

AnthonyJ350 says:

I would put a catback exhaust on it. Compared to newer cars, vehicles from
then tended to have really restrictive stock exhaust piping.

Sam Egan says:

I had an AIRAID quick fit system on my 03 4.0 ford ranger and it threw a
rich mixture with oxygen in both o2 sensor bays with the same thing happen
with this product?

treehawk1996 says:

How does this handle dust? My teacher at my tech school said he tried a wet
element filter (which I assume is the kind this is) for a while but he had
a problem with the dust just turning into mud after a while, would this do
the same?

treehawk1996 says:

i have a 96 b2300 2.3 liter (basically a ranger) and im thinking about
putting one of these on in the next few months. Do i need to open the
exhaust up too or should i be fine?

AnthonyJ350 says:

Besides spending money? lol. Umm I wouldn’t be too concerned with water
because as you can see the filter is mounted up high where the stock filter
used to be. If you’re concerned about water when you’re puddle hopping you
can make a shield under it and just drill a lot of holes to allow air
through but minimize water. Other than that I wouldn’t worry, the people
that make these spend a lot of time and money developing these intakes.

AnthonyJ350 says:

Nothing like that happened after we installed it, into the truck. Truck
still drives great.

treehawk1996 says:

Thanks for all the help

C. Nees says:

Good post! Is there any down side to having an intake system like this? I
got a 04 Ranger 4.0 liter and thinking about buy one of these systems. What
about any issues with water? Thanks

SupertrampPromo says:

My friends air filter shakes a little while idling is it normall?

Gillan McGauley says:

How much better mpg does it give you?

perryap1 says:

just did this today. money well spent.

AnthonyJ350 says:

Ya the owner just bought the truck off someone so it was detailed, and he
wanted to start modding it right away. You should check out the fog light
install I did in it 😉
