To get to the driver side rear speakers in the back seat you will have to
take out the backseat to get to it you’ll only have to take out the back
park not the part you sit down on then you will have some pushin. Fasteners
and some screws and bolts but its just a bunch of layered panels over the
speaker once you get to that it’s easy for me there and reverse to process
and put it back together make sure you use lubricant on the boats for you
loosen them on the back seat

spike4564 says:

so how would you do this for a 97 or 98 ext cab model. since driver side
does not have a door for ext cab

ChokingViktum says:

DOES NOT WORK FOR 2004! No need to remove front door panel (exept maybe for
easier access to more speaker wire) and rear door is completely different.

@stylerwilson1 srry about the long time….ya i got rockford fosgate prime
series 6×8 and they’re great! although bass is not the greatest but the
mids and the trebles are great 🙂

Tyler Wilson says:

@dannyboy3546 I would not recommend using a 6×9, you would need to cut out
the factory hole. You could do it but you would most likely run into issues
like mounting depth and the factory door panels not fitting properly.

Schwim Dandy says:

I actually laughed out loud when I realized you were just going to casually
neglect to mention the one speaker that actually needs explanation in the
vehicle. “Today, we’re going to show you how to replace 75% of your
speakers. Last step: Adjust fade & balance to mute the left rear.

emny23 says:

Dude, I have been looking for a couple days about the non-door side also
and can’t find anything.

Tyler Wilson says:

@Moye10 – Yes, you are correct. The factory speaker size is 6×8, I did use
a 5×7 for the replacement speakers. Pretty much all of the aftermarket 5×7
speakers will fit in a 6×8 hole, and the position of the mounting holes is
usually the only difference between the two.

shamooissle says:

this really helped thums up dawg

Tyler Wilson says:

The factory speaker size is a 6×8. 6×8 speakers are harder to find for
aftermarket speakers, you will mostly find 5×7’s when searching for
aftermarket replacements. pretty much all aftermarket 5×7 speakers have the
mounting holes for a 6×8 hole.

dannyboy3546 says:

@stylerwilson1 what about the 6 x 9?

pasta_salad_w_GRAPES says:

In my old 99 GMC you had to remove the entire back seat to get to the far
side. I assume you probably have to do something similar in this case 🙁

Jimmy Arevalo says:

every post i see has the little door speaker removal wich is pretty easy if
you have basic knowledge, whats up with the side without the door? been
googling for a video tutorial or even pics/docs and nothing seems to come
up what does come up tells you front and rear pass.. just like this video

infinitieplague says:

found 6×8 rockford fosgates

infinitieplague says:

what size are the front speakers

justinchaffin1013 says:

can i just use a 6×9 for front and back not much of a diffrence right?

David Kocsis says:

Hi what size do you need for the front and the back speakers? I got low
sound from my new stereo system, will replacing all the speaker increase
sound quality? Thanks

Will Roache says:

What were those new speakers you installed? the orange ones

Moye10 says:

Great video! One thing to note, you indicate the speaker size for the front
and rear is 5/7 while they are both in fact 6/8.

vanillaiceicebaby22 says:

What about the speaker in the back where the CD player is?

pasta_salad_w_GRAPES says:

This does not apply to my 98 f150 good video though
