I would add a note that one should not neglect greasing the steering
components as well when doing oil changes.
nice truck
Is your engine a 4.0?… I have a 2002 ranger v6 4.0 engine looks similar
like yours
Thanks bud, can i get all that equipment at like autozone?
Oil level on the dip stick is almost never accurate after you just filled
the engine with oil. Oil is thick and has to make its way to the bottom
through the top end of the engine. It’s best to just put what it
recommends, drive the vehicle, and check after the oil has settled 10-20
minutes after it has been heated.
Good shit
chris the oil cap has 5w20 written on it and your oil jug is 5w30 I
dont know if any one else watching the video caught this

Dude, what do you do with old oil?
I hear you need to take it to store for disposal? Any place? Like Midas? Or
Firestone? Take it from you? Is there any fee? Also how did you transport
it from that wide ass black pan to something (?) confused. Please explain.
You’re supposed to use fresh clean oil when lubricating the filter gasket.
I’m about to go buy an oil filter, gloves, tools and an oil catcher I’ve
never done an oil chnage before. I have a Mazda Tribute 🙂 I’ll let you
know how I go.
Hey Chris. I was wondering how do you dispose of your oil?
Great step by step tutorial!!
Hey chris,, I forgot to oil the rubber seal on my new filter will it be o
.k sir???
Your engine recommends 5w-20 why did you use 5w-30?
Thanks for the vid! Quick, easy to understand and informative.
Many thanks :)
What kind of oil would be good for a car with 93,000 miles on it?
great video helped me do my first ever oil change and made it simple!!!
i like the last tip! TURN the wheels!
I have a ranger and haven’t done my own oil in a long time. This video
helped! Thanks, ChrisFix!
Would it be a good idea to reuse your oil filter?
Giuseppe his oil filter goes on side ways filling the filter with oil
only works on cars if the filter is going on straight up in his case the
oil would come out when he goes to put it on
You’re obviously an amateur and not a pro, but nonetheless your videos are
detailed and informative.
the store wants 35$… forget it.. i do it myself
Thanks chris very helpfull ! Do you know how much oil i need to put in a
ranger 4.0l ?
Make sure the old filter gasket comes off with the old filter. If it sticks
to the engine side and the new filter is tightened down on top of the old
gasket it will blow out from the oil pressure when running. Something that
can be easily missed and can cause serious problems. AC Delco filters are
notorious for the gaskets not coming off with the filters.
