Excellent video.

contra1894 says:

Does a carbureted 85 mustang gt have that fuel filter as well or is it just
one where the carb is? +TheRykerDane

Leslie Borst says:

Hi there!! I have a 98 mustang v6. When i shift into drive or reverse it
stalls. Someone said it could be the fuel filter or the fuel pump.
Suggestions?? Thanks!!

Luis Badillo says:

Good job,

peanutbuttergeorge1 says:

To avoid the bucket of fuel simply clamp each line before pulling the
filter.

delpret1 says:

Thanks so much. By “oil in the engine” I meant that the dipstick showed oil
still in the crankcase and the engine didn’t seize up. Does this change
your answer at all? If not, a good deal of money for what you’re talking
about? Again, thanks so very much.

RapSoulisit 1 says:

Thanks. I was looking for a video to show me where this was located.
Changed one on my moms car and mines was not in the same place. LOL but
thanks. Big help

Brendan Murray says:

Great vid man

TheRykerDane says:

yep thats more than likely the prob. Especially if it was just running for
you. ya kicking the tire didn’t do much good, ha

Alex England says:

Oh okay awesome. Changed it today and with the help of your video, it went
perfect! Thanks a lot!

Walker Miller says:

i have a 2000 mustang while im driving it kicks and i dont have much power
anymore it seems to have lost alot… idk if the kicking is from the
transmission or not but the loss of power?

TheRykerDane says:

ok, it should work for you. thanks for watching!

TheRykerDane says:

Oh ya, that would be cool, those models are nice too!

SaltLakeSPL says:

Question, I have a 95 v6, I bought it four days ago, ran fine, filled up at
7-eleven ( I never go there) drove for two days, while i got off work,
tried to start the car, nothing, didn’t even try to crank, left it there
overnight (i work swings) go back the next day, try to start, fires for
about two seconds, then, later that night on break, started, drove 200
feet, died. Also, i can’t hear the fuel pump engage, but never noticed it
before, so not sure if its even loud enough to hear.

womackke says:

nice just swapped mine, it had been in since 1996

TheRykerDane says:

Hey thats great advice, thanks so much!

Heather Renee Heinemann says:

i love 4 ever sexy butt your man joe

TheRykerDane says:

oh I see. ok, glad you got it switched. It def helps with performance.

Rossiya Slava says:

my car starts but , when you give it a lil bit of gas it doesnt really have
much power u have to give it a lot and then it will start gaining power,
just started doing that, what you think?

Robert Taylor says:

How do you get those plastic tabs off? I feel like I’m gonna break them

Andrew medina says:

Thanks really helped gonna change mass air flow sensor and the fuel filter
tomaro, anything else you would recommend changing

delpret1 says:

Gas filter? My car was running smoothly, then started chugging, stalling,
and then stopping as we pulled into a parking lot. Now it won’t start at
all, but the starter seems good and there’s lots of oil in the engine. It’s
a 2003 Stang GT with 30000 miles (not a misprint!). Has some modifications
but they were never a problem. Please tell me it’s the gas filter …
please!

TheRykerDane says:

probably not a good idea, but I bet you might have already known the answer
to that. Thanks for watching!

TheRykerDane says:

Well you should get new ones, with the new fuel filter, so don’t worry
about breaking them off when you remove. But if you don’t get new ones with
the fuel filter, you need to just use a flat head screwdriver to push the
tab to the middle to pull out the hole. Or if you can get a needle nose
plyers in there you can squeeze together to push it through the hole. Hope
this helps!

RapSoulisit 1 says:

Yes it does. I have a v6, and thinking about getting dual exhaust to add a
lil more power but want to trade it for a 99 – 05 gt convertible model.

Brandon Marion says:

you just break the little plastic pice , i did and it cam out , new plastic
pieces come with the filter so you should be good

TheRykerDane says:

thanks, hope it helped!

TheRykerDane says:

Those are good starts right there. Just check your plugs, wires, and
possibly the distributor cap. Just want to make sure everything is clean
and firing well. hope it works out for you

TheRykerDane says:

ok cool, that would be good to see. glad it helped! Thanks for watching!

Jovany Manriquez says:

same crap my 96 3.8L mustang is doing now and just bought a new fuel
filter…hope it works or ill just kick the tire like you did haha

TheRykerDane says:

ok, thanks for the info! Thanks for watching!

RubberSideDown2 says:

Hey guys. I work at a shop and Should mention they you should vent the gas
tank, meaning pop your gas cap open. That releases the built up pressure in
your tank and lines so gas wont spray as hard in your face when you take
off the 2 gas lines on the filter. Hope this helps too!

gargar75 says:

Great vid! I just changed mine in my Z28 & I also disconnected the fuel
pump fuse & let the pressure out of the fuel line under the hood. Idk if
you can do that on your Mustang or not. I’m going to change the fuel filter
in my 03 Cobra next. It seems to be harder to get to because of my IRS.
Maybe I’ll post a vid on it. Thanks for the vid man.

vagasduke says:

do the plastic clips pull right out?

Al Lee says:

ok so i should try fuel filter first b4 anything? even b4 spark plugs/wire?

TheRykerDane says:

Glad it helped, thanks!

Gizmo, J Chan says:

Perfect fix. Yeah!

TheRykerDane says:

yep that could be your problem is that your transmission is slipping and is
about to go out.

Alex England says:

Ahhh okay glad you said that, because I probably wouldn’t have done that.
Another dumb question is that fuel line directly connected to my gas tank
so for example lets see i just let it leak would all of the gas in my tank
come out? What i’m getting at is if I changed it tomorrow with 3/4 of a
tank would all of that tank be able to spill out? So should I run the line
into a gas can so I can put what spills out (The good stuff) back in? Sorry
i’m sure this is a dumb question..

demonikpony98 says:

Can I do this while smoking a ciggarette???

cockerduchess says:

Thanks this helped alot!
