Good video mate. Should save people a few bucks if they DIY oil & filter
change. Just to add though the W in 5W30 oil stands for winterized. 5W is
the viscosity of the oil when cold. Ensure you use 5W 30 part synthetic
(semi synthetic same thing) oil for your ford engine. Ensure you half fill
the oil filter before installing even if some oil may splill as you thread
it on. Always apply fresh oil around the new O’ring before installation to
help it seal. Always use a new copper sump plug washer and dont over
tighten. You can turn a small job into a big job when you come to undo it
next time. Re fill your new oil carton with the old oil you have drained
for easy transport to a recycle centre. Never discard engine oil into
drains or the environment!

Just serviced my fiesta using your vid so thanks alot for your help and
saving me £’s PS My oil filter wouldn’t budge either so had to do the old
screw driver piecing too haha.

chillpill786 says:

Fords take 5-30 semi synthetic

chrisjeffsmusic says:

the W in the oil grade doesn’t stand for watts! haha

harveydog2006 says:

@PhilSheredan thanks i will get it booked in

harveydog2006 says:

heres a question for ya mate how much should a replacement of the control
arms and the small link bars cost on a ford focus 2l

James Stephenson says:

Hi Phil. the W on the oil specification stands for Winter, James

thekempinator says:

How many hours and how hard would you say it was to change the clutch on a
fiesta? Mine is going, it’s rattling and pulling away is a chore. Can get a
new performance clutch kit for about £80, is it worth taking to a garage or
can i get this done myself? Cheers

Ben Watson says:

@lapispinoza It’s most likely so you have to go to a garage and pay through
the nose to get your filter changed 😉

crompton33 says:

Cam belt? I thought zetec camshafts were chain driven.

PhilSheredan says:

@harveydog2006 interms of hours work 2-3 hours max so depends on hourly rate

thegermanhater says:

nice mate

matdysign says:

Good video – you’re a natural. thanks for sharing. Can you do one on
changing spark plugs on a focus, please.

Michael S says:

Whats the oil capacity for this fiesta? 3ltr or 4ltr?

Grindhousewatch2007 says:

@mike060187 ranges from 3.75l(for 1.25/1.4l engine) up to 4.25l(for
1.6l.Engine with the long Oil-filter EFL600).

CarlosJarrett says:

Awesome video mate. im a mechanical engineer at a paper mill so not my
speciality doing cars. Although all same mechanical principle etc. Very
very good video, makes it really easy to understand. so well done!

chrisjeffsmusic says:

FoMoCo filters actually have that written on them. Also you should always
put the bolt/sump plug back in with a wrench by hand, or you can strip the
threads in the pan which means you need a new pan…

Darrell Palmer says:

Excellent video thanks ! I’m servicing a fiesta this weekend !

Thomas Duke says:

Great video, big thanks for sharing

Abel Abel says:

thank you very much it’s very helpfull.

MrDarkspad says:

I tried looking for 5 watts 30 oil. Couldn’t find it.

Matthew Jorgenson says:

I like the location of that oil filter. I have a 2003 focus svt and the oil
filter is hard to get at, and when you do, oil gets all over. its in the
back of the engine on the passanger side. [right side] in the usa

makedonaccc1 says:

A great work . Thank you a lot 🙂

1700iDiGuy says:

The engine that was in this video, (black top?) i have the 1.25 version in
my 1996 fiesta, two garages have told me this engine has HYDRAULIC tappets,
the haynes manual tells me its the BUCKET AND SHIM type, so i popped the
cover off mine today and found what i beleive are bucket and shims…
theres even the small 5-6mm slot cutout on each bucket to accomodate fords
special shim removal tool..

jordan hacz says:

oil filter should have been primed with fresh oil before being fitted back
onto the block.

Branislav Stratrov says:

does this sound like a problem to you ? /watch?v=kwyUh9x6uAI

DAVIDAKARAFF says:

I wanna know wat other engines will fit my car ? Please help

GoForDaBADGE says:

Gr8! video BUT you could have used a sheet of sand paper no need to use a
screw driver…best wishes….and keep up the good videos….

Mark James says:

But Jordan is right, all oil filters should be primed with fresh oil. If
not then engine should be cranked with no source of ignition or fuel
present for 30 seconds to prime the filter prior to start up.

PhilSheredan says:

@matdysign Thanks I have so much to upload covering all sorts of stuff but
I’m well behind. keep watching !!

sasasaran2210 says:

yesterday the mehanic put in my fiesta 1.25 16v zetec, 15w40 castrol
magnetic oil is this a problem and is this vrong oil for my this engine

James Stephenson says:

you will spill some of that all over your arm or head if you put too much
in the filter

ps3pat says:

Hey i got a ford focus se 2000 sedan and when ever i take a fast turning or
sometimes on bumps my whole car starts to wobble do you know why?

bax450 says:

I can’t get the oil filter off my fiesta I’ve tried by hand, I’ve tried one
of those oil filter chain wrenches and now I’ve tried running a screw
driver through it and it still won’t budge, and now I can’t drive my car
because the oil filter’s got a big hole running through it.

DAVIDAKARAFF says:

Hey I’ve a ford mondeo 02 zetec 1.8 I’ve low compression

Ben Watson says:

@lapispinoza Haha, I won’t mate. Had a bad enough time changing my front
bulbs.
