only reason to strip a 6.0 valve cover is abuse and cross threading. i have worked on that motor while i was at ford more then i like to remember. seen alot of them threads wreaked as well as the torx bolts messed up on the oil rails. good job making it right again

Arnulfo Sandoval says:

Is it normal for them to strip, if so, why? Finally, good video.

Walter Frederick says:

Lot of times,we get the mig welder out to extract broken off bolts.Basically weld a nut on and the broken off bolt comes out the first time usually

Cassius Puckett says:

Well Clay, this was a great video, and true Heli-coil repair does a fine job for the repair. But that don't mean I gotta like it. LOL!!! I hate putting Heli-coils in a stripped out bolt hole. Love the video! And tell Wally to quit setting down on the job!!!! LOL!!!!

David Walle says:

Using a tap guide will help guide the tap until it gets started. A tap guide can be made from a steel block with a clearance hole for the tap drilled square thru the block on a drill press. I made several guides to tap hicoils for holley carbs on dodge trucks.

Donald Dooley says:

There the ticket used them a few times use black tread locker it ain't never coming back out

dave korn says:

Still a better engine than the 6.4 lol

Hey Clay I own a diesel repair shop as well and our tech's always complain when they have to work on junk. But I always remind them that someone else's junk pays the bills, and if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Great videos!
