I am not quite sure what you are asking. The sliding bolt goes through the rubber sliders on the caliper and bolt onto the hub. Hope this helps

Graham Rattray says:

Should the sliding bolts push right through the calliper?

Thanks for the video, it helped me out alot today whilst doing this. Just to add I used the baercoil kit which contains the tap, helicoil with insert tool and drill bit. I got mine from experthardware.

The info is at the bottom of my comments:
For information the bolt threads are M9 X 1.25 pitch. The helicoil insert size M9 1.5D stainless steel was inserted.A 9.3 mm drill is required to create the hole and a tap of the same size to create the threads for the helicoil to screw into. You will see it is not a difficult task when you watch the video. Happy car repairs.
Hope this helps

Brilliant video, china, thanks!
I first used helicoils45 years ago ( on stainless steel anti-depth-charge snubbers on submarines! so I didn’t need the info, on that. I had Googled ” brake caliper helicoil focus” just to get the threat size and up popped your great little video– but you never mentioned the size! I was fuming until I clicked “more” and saw it in the text. Here’s hoping for a cheap one on ebay! Great clear pics and explanation.

Yeah i think mine is t45 and has a caliper mount which has 2 15mm bolts

bunnybr says:

Just looked at another focus mk1 2001 and it had a torx head T45 so not all allen keys.

bunnybr says:

I cannot say with total certainty that it is a 7mm allen key but I have done a few of these cars and have found them to all 7mm.

harveydog2006 says:

Good job is it 7 mm allen key on mk1 2002 focus zetec ???
