Ford F250: Stalls Out & Sometimes Restarts?

Ford F250: Stalls Out & Sometimes Restarts?

In this video I have a look at a customers 2011 F-250 that was diagnosed at another shop for having a bad fuse box. Customer wanted me to take a look and be sure before changing any parts and see what it really needed. I was sick back in February when I made this video. Hopefully it doesn’t seem to scatter brained to you.

Had a 1989 Ford ranger 2.9L was a same problem yet just switch the relay (Horn & Fuel) and cured the solution: relay's are most common with electronic controlled power

I appreciate you explaining how you come up with your process of diagnosing electrical problems. I think with today’s complex automobiles, taking a basic electrical or electronics class would be so useful. Do you have any suggestions?

Markus Notorius says:

Ah fack. It's never the relay. I feel ur pain

So, is that the 6.2 liter which is supposed to be an excellent motor/engine…

You got me sick from all that camera motion. Since you're sick I guess you're just not happy unless we are all sick. Lol

Alan Burnham says:

That looks like the same list of stuff (ABS, Trailer brake, etc) that my 2012 F250 6.2L complains about when it does an intermittent no crank after sitting for a few days or more. Cycling the key always "fixes" it and I can never get it to act up when I have time to dig into it. It did it off and on for 3 years and now it's been fine for a couple years but gremlins never really go away; they just hibernate. It does seem to stay broke till the key is cycled so next time I'll check that row of fuses when it acts up.

Karl Vondrak says:

Finally getting a chance to get caught up on your videos, great videos as always and sorry to see you feeling sick. Fuse 45 does not feed both sides of the relay, only the control side. Load side is before the fuse 45. I am sure if you weren't feeling under the weather, you would have caught that. I wish I was closer to your shop, that is for sure!!

Thank you for all you do! From one Eric A. To Eric O.

Paul Moir says:

When you didn't find a smoking gun when you pulled apart the relay, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had a sinking feeling. Everyone who's faced intermittents felt the same way. Having your brain compressed into the size of a purely theoretical particle (Thanks Dave Berry!) by a head cold doesn't help.

Gary Bomkamp says:

You are much better sick than others on their best day

Mark Lus says:

Great video

Very nice diagnostic path. It took me some time to figure out have a plan. If you go in all Willy nilly, you fix it and you don’t know how.
