In a previous video https://youtu.be/DaU6WgP2_4w I had a look at this customers F-250 and was able to identify his problem with a simple visual inspection. Well, now it’s time to get it fixed for real and get this guy back on the road.
Enjoy!

Harbor Faught sells that heat shrink its called marine grade heat shrink.
Had to be the spare tire that pinched the wires. Just saying.
Your channel is one of my must-watch list. Thanks Eric. I grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy watching you work. I should get paid. Maybe not.
You'd think that for what they get $ on those connectors, they could AT LEAST get the color coding…
What about the third brake light?
You must have good eyesight with no glasses
I've been fixing things for 30 plus years and I've learned that doing something different doesn't always mean you're doing it wrong.
Used to get that heat shrink on Amazon but harbor freight carries it now as "Marine heat shrink" stuff is amazing with internal glue.
Odd story, I’ve had several after market warranties and had a PTU replaced, sway bar, rear wheel bearings, a power steering pump and break lines on my Wrangler all done for the $100 deductible. I’ve never had a repair denied.
I am a professional wire fixer, you are doing it the absolute best way !!!
This shouldve been a trip to the junkyard.
Green wires – the one color they shouldn’t be in PRNY.
Excellent diagnosis I’m old school solder and heat shrink for over 30 years now never a problem . I always told my Guys in the shop look to see if some one else was working there first most likely that’s where the problem is . Great job .
Farm trucks take a beating like no other. It may have been as simple as snagging a stick or a root or backing over a log. Eric, your videos are excellent.
I've said it before, but here it is again: I like the roach clip wire holder and I will need to buy or make me a few of those someday. I have the stationary type with the large magnifying glass, but a set of the portable ones for this type of work would be super.
I enjoy the rants you go on.. reminds me of me and just talking to my self..
Working at a dealer level, that wire job is just not what I'd be comfortable with and it's more because of any sort of liability.
How ever a job I'd take on if I owned my own shop.
solder for sure.
For almost $200 for a connector that you have to solder anyway, why wouldn’t you just make your own replacement connector? Plenty of choices, and wiring one up is dead simple
Read a comment on the first one and i believe they were correct. Someone put a tow strap up around there and wasn't paying any attention. Messed up the wires and one winter later…. wires are crunchy and green.
Speaking of warrentys, I bought a USB thumbdrive. It was less than $10. I was asked if I wnted to purchase the store warrenty for it. The drive back to the store would have cost more than the thumbdrive.
Looks like there's fire damage in that rear corner of the underside?
UPM makes the ford heat shrink, Union Polymer Material Co. from where else but China!!
Paper clip and duck tape!
Did a bulb replacement fix the third brake light code?
I love the fact that you too sometimes end up with a few wires longer than the rest and do the loop-a-roo……LOL. My favorite though is wiring stereos and amplifiers and after doing a perfect tape job realize that you forgot a wire….GRRRRRRRR!!!! Great video and I think that laying on your back was probably easier than working overhead.
I also like using what I call "harness wrap" which is like the tape without the adhesive. If ever a need for repair needs a second go at it, I can just cut the tape on the taped end, unravel it, fix, and rewrap what's hanging….also use it around loom too. great product! Thumbs up on your effort reinstalling harness in proper location to make it right instead of just 'gittin-'er-done'.
If I can solder, I will solder. If it’s a tight fit, it is crimp and seal
