Does this work on 2024

@sandmanxo says:

Thank you for this. Other than the bolt size by the obd2 port is 10mm in my 2017, it worked great. I bought the controller a few weeks ago but it's been hot in Texas but finally got a cool front and got it done quick.

@myarascavitch says:

Aaron, or anyone else… FORD (Canada) indicates there are NO OEM CONTROLLERS available in North America (based on my local parts department) and that my 2015 F150 is "too old". I suppose that leaves me with knock-offs. Any thoughts about Amazon or other copy products? Please help!

Awesome video. The prior owner installed a TBC but never enabled it with Forscan. I don't know if it is a genuine Ford part, or a cheap chinese one. I noticed in the winter it was draining the battery, which I discovered after I pulled the fuse under the hood for it while testing for current draw. It functioned when pulling a trailer, but it never displayed the gain setting. Now it shows the gain setting and I'll see if the current draw problem persists.

Hello, I have a question and I hope you can help me, I have the F-150 XL 2020 with the most basic display, I have carried out all the steps, in the IPC module only one option appears to activate, I did it and everything is in order, the intensity controller works, but it doesn't appear on the screen when I increase or decrease the braking intensity, nothing appears but it does work, any suggestions? Do I have to activate something else to get the information on the screen?

@collinhepplewhite9660 says:

Awesome video man. I did have to also enable the trailer brake controller module on my 16’ XL but besides that 10/10!

@twistedpudding says:

I just did this on my 2022, and I can see and set the gain, but it keeps saying "no trailer" even when I hook my trailer up. Do you have any ideas what that can be?

@Frenchfryguy1 says:

Do you need to buy a control module or just enable it with the cable?

@jonadams5276 says:

im having issues getting forscan onto my laptop. i downloaded it from the link but when i goto open it the appstore opens and then closes and nothing happens any advice? running windows 11

@alexbothwell6349 says:

My 2016 using this same forscan wire is not bringing up IPC. What’s up with that? It said the cable I have may not work properly with forscan but I ordered this exact cable.

@nykalex87 says:

I tried to do this and almost everything worked, but the program gives me a message: you need an Extended License to run this function

@stratomess says:

I ordered a Ford OEM controller box off of EBay. Defin. OEM in the box new. Ordered from his link below for the ELM327. Although the one on his current link has no switch on it. And looks diff. than the one he uses in the vid. Also procured the full function trial license for ForScan. BUT, the scan doesn't pickup all the modules shown off of his LT and ForScan/327 setup/connection. So, consequently, I don't see the module(s) needed to enable the brake controller, gain, etc……….Anybody got any ideas? BTW, I've got a 2016 F150 XL that I just picked up (stoopid low milage on it 😉

Thanks,

Good evening Blessings greetings from San Carlos Costa Rica Pura Vida question does the 2014 ford f150 raptor have a trailer brake question can you install the 2014 ford f150 raptor trailer assistant or not

@sancheazy says:

If my trailer has electric brakes, do I need a brake controller?

@russdittmer1475 says:

HELP…. All went well until I connected the ELM327 (No switch – All Protocols Supported) and ForScan. None of the IPC functions show up. What am I doing wrong?

@richardkeesling1836 says:

Really appreciate this video, made installation easy. I have had some difficulty "activating" it with Forscan. The menu I get has slightly different options and doesn't include the trailer brake controller. Anyone else done this recently and have a work around or do I just need to go to Ford?

@MUZICROCKZ9 says:

Would this be possible on a 300a XLT with the 2.5” display without towing package? If not, what other options are there for a factory brake controller?

@johnbarber5581 says:

IPC doesn't come up in my options under the computer chip icon. 2016 Ford F150. Any ideas?

@UplandBrothers says:

Awesome video!! Thank you so much. It all worked out.

@kenwilson2314 says:

Ford is trying to sell me the Brake controller and also an accessory kit as well do I need the accessory kit? I’ve got a 2018 F150 with the 5.0

@jimharger9406 says:

I bought a controller off eBay and installed it following this video. Easy as can be. Using forscan and an interface cable enabled all three brake controller lines. Went to test it today and have a couple of troubling issues. The gain settings work, I can apply the brakes manually and go from wheel lock up to zero. But two things are not right. When I apply manually I get a ding and a “Trailer Disconnected” message. Everything still works and when I look at trailer status all is good. The other thing is that I don’t get a power level reading when applying the brake pedal. Another forum mentioned a controller software update from Ford to resolve this issue. But I only found that mentioned one place. Any clue? Could it be the $30 controller I got off eBay?
Thank for any help you can offer.

@BrianKirby-h4z says:

My dealer had my truck for 2 days . Claiming they were having problems programming the break module. I showed up on Saturday to get paperwork of my truck, and they hadn't even installed the module yet .
Would you trust the dealership from this point on ?

@user-hf4zp6ei8m says:

Thank you! Got it done in my ‘16.

My brakes are not powering the trailer brakes. When I hit the manual slide, it will. I’m wondering if you have any idea how I could fix this? Thanks again!

@skincarving says:

I have a 2016 F150. I did all this and I still have an issue where it shows. My trailer is not connected. I went from a four pin to a seven pin. On my dashboard I have the module working with the gain, but still shows no trailer connected. I do have all items enabled from the module. What more do I need to do?
