JOE DELUCIA says:

Rich i enjoyed the video my mother has the same car. what type of
butterfly is that you use in the video? is a CH a good brand of
butterfly and do they only make them in 3/8

Danny Peacock says:

Fixing and replacing my fords brake cable I’m unable to remove the headed
screws is it essential to remove these with a regular wrench?

ItsAlwaysRusty says:

That car is one speed bump from braking in half. .It’s very nice of you to
fix it for the owner though.. Take Care..

Michael Quigley says:

Thanks, again great video, gotta get one of those ?

richpin06a says:

With a name like you have i though you would appreciate this one.

richpin06a says:

Good eye yes there is.

zx8401ztv says:

Yep im sure you could loosen the handbrake nuts with the console on, but
your a kind man and let us see the jiggerly bits :-)) You got some smashing
views :), i felt like the car was upside down. Ahh rust with a hint of
metal ha ha :-), looks like its been through hell. Nice to have new parts
to work with, tell the owner to buy a bucket load of rust killer before the
car vanishes in a pile of dust 😛

ge10good says:

I am doing the cable on my ford territory. Not easy, but a lot easier than
the escort. I get frustrated at all the bad engineering design I see. Not
too many smart people in the industry

richpin06a says:

It is a 3/8 butterfly impact wrench.

Liamautomechanic says:

the body is badly rusted, too much salt on the roads there.cold climate?

richpin06a says:

It is a different one .

B Dagle says:

Rich, Nice job, you were lucky with those bolts. We have the same problem
here in Michigan. I hope that you replaced that sway bar link for the
people while you were there?

CHIBA280CRV says:

Nice work Rich , hope you got your tetanus shot? That East coast salt can
really eat up a car. Also it appears they had a broken rear sway bar?

richpin06a says:

I think one more season and this car is going to be retired.Shame because
it only has 80,000 on it.

richpin06a says:

I though my camera was a goner because as i was videoing rust came down on
the camera and jammed the lens. After using a little bit of compressed air
and gently pushing on the lens i was able to get it back in working
order.,,,it was a close call.

DUSTINSMOBILE WRENCH says:

looks like that swaybar end link rotted off also i am in western pa so our
cars arent much better

bestmastermind951 says:

is this the escort u did the head gasket/ head work or another one?

richpin06a says:

Ya but i bet those cables from the dealer fit real well.

epiphaknee says:

What an intro! I was looking for Spock and Captain Kirk! Always save your
nut(s)! Great Video!!

zx8401ztv says:

Eeek, sounds like your camera needed a clear cover, or put a mirror on the
ground and aim the camera at it from its tripod 🙂 Dam good shots, i
suspect a better view than you had yourself.

justhes says:

Those cars take a beating up there!

Jon with no h says:

Beside the sway bar link, I think I see the carpet at 05:00, above that
rusted floor pan. I like Escorts but that one has serious body cancer.

ICU2 says:

Is there a broken anti-sway bar mount on that car?

Michael Quigley says:

What kind of air impact is that, looks cool. Great job.

Tony Thatcher says:

whos car is it ?

Jonathan Agustin says:

where is the brake hose that connected on the suspension?

joeyz2k says:

Thanks rich for another great escort video!! I’m a rookie mechanic who just
started out so I love watching your videos for little tips and tricks here
and there! I have a 99 escort so these videos really help me out. I have to
see what’s going on with my escorts parking brake
