Ford Edge Rear Differential – Remove & Replace

Ford Edge Rear Differential – Remove & Replace

In this video I bring you along as I swap out the rear differential on a Ford Edge. The original rear diff gutted itself and it is much cheaper to swap it out with a used unit instead of rebuilding the original. -Enjoy!

Oh in Illinois (the salt belt) wheel speed sensors always come out. Weather its by a drill bit, punch, hammer..they always come out.

Phil McCuen says:

You do such good work that your "crappy" work would still be better than 90% of the goofball "mechanics" in this business. You're a professional and it shows in your work. Thanks for all the awesome videos!!!

Sid Vicious says:

Best part is when your mrs turns up. Hope she kicks you in the face with them boots. 🙂

Christopher Hylton says:

The guy with the Chevy Cruz with the leaking valve cover ("because Rock Auto was out of them, you know what that means") did you a favor. Trust me, you don't want that guy's car anywhere on your lot. Speaking from experience, he is the type that is always suspicious that you are ripping him off, never satisfied and just a general pain in the butt.

HouseCallAutoRepair says:

That blue loctite is the only reason (in the Northeast) that they came out… The drive shaft bolts had me cringing.

J B says:

Rock auto not a sponsor…

Hey you ever worry about Tetanus? With all the rust and what not?

Donald Goforth says:

That is why they vote dem in your state….

togilli9 says:

Hey what's the spray called you put on the bearing. Thanks and love the videos.

John Adams says:

I know about rust. Lived in NH for 47 years and did all the work on my cars. With those heavy salted road there most of my cars had nice door handles but everything below them was missing.

Yawwee Shalimar says:

Well, Eric, easy job here, just loosen a dozen bolts, slide the old one out, in with the new one, and walla – she's done. Write up the bill, Mrs. O. !!!!!!!!

Bo Scott says:

Let’s petition the courts for an autopsy of the old one
