Curtis Ramone says:

question, do I keep turning the crank pulley to reinstall the all roller followers?

Chase Acklam says:

This guy is a godsend. I went from hating the 5.4 to loving this thing. It's just misunderstood. I completed my timing job today and actually had a lot of fun. The motor is incredibly smooth, I got some power back and gained some mpgs. Thank you Brian

itsmeray01 says:

When i removed the timming cover, I sprayed some engine cleaner on the exposed front oil pan and the gasket insert started swelling and 1/2 inch stuck on to the timeing cover and got ripped out this happened when I pulled the the Timing cover off . When I put the timeing cover back together , Will I need to replace the oil pan gasket with a New one later on or can I use Grey Ultra Gasket maker over the old oil pan gasket to Seal any oil leeks. will it work this way?

Appliance Care says:

I'm stuck on how to remove the roller followers after all the timing components are removed. Do you just un screw the top of the camshaft or take out the roller followers one by one? Please help

Jamars phenomenology says:

Can I turn the camshaft to install my roller followers without causing damage?

Kaleb Chapman says:

OK so I’ve watched several of your videos. They are very helpful, but I am so confused on what I am doing with the followers am I pulling the whole cam or am I using a tool to pull a few of them?

Kaleb Chapman says:

Do I absolutely need to pull the cams off to put this motor into time or can I just turn the crank to top dead center and put my chains on

Kaleb Chapman says:

So after you put all the timing chains on, you never showed how you put the cam rollers and all that good stuff back in do you put that in before you put the timing chains on

Jamars phenomenology says:

hey, you didn't mention if that cam phaser needs to to be in a certain potion. install it at 12 oclock and not 2?

Jorge Romero Torres says:

no se pude traducir al español???????

Tyler says:

When torquing the phaser bolt to the initial 30 ft-lbs, the vanes shifted slightly. Less than 5 degrees. This is a new Ford phaser… does that seem wrong to you?

tpcoachfix says:

When do you install the cam rollers?

TurboB says:

Great in depth video thanks you never done this before and my truck came out great

Alan Bullock says:

So I just put timing cover back on and torqued all the bolts down and went to remove the cylanoid on top and dropped my bit down in the timing cover. The gasket is brand spanking new from the kit you recommend I have to take cover off do I have to replace gasket and crank seal?

refusemech says:

Hello. I recently helped my son replace the phaser’s and chains etc on his 2007 F-150. Not at all impressed with fords better ideas to say the least and found how over engineered most automotive and commercial vehicle manufacturers have become. It’s utterly ridiculous and extremely expensive for repairs when needed. Going back to my complaint on the phaser installation. I’ve always been a firm believer on replacing sensitive components such as these and emissions part with OEM but depending on your budget you might choose aftermarket parts.
After taking apart the old phasers that were both broken in the same place where the lock piston allows the phasers to adjust I noticed that when torquing the phaser bolt against the secured gear that it could fracture the vein and cause it to fail prematurely. There should be a tool made to secure the five tabs on the face of the phaser to keep pressure off the veins inside the phaser when torquing. I noticed the Cloyes kits say to torque their bolt to 90 lbs instead of the 30lbs plus 90deg. I could see this breaking the veins and not lasting after a few miles. Well that’s my 2 cents worth. Thanks for listening

Sebastian Endres says:

Why didn't you show the removal of all the followers

Jason says:

Is there a TDC To this motor? I've done timing jobs in the past that #1 piston had to be at TDC. Does it matter? Is it just the 11oclock position that matters ?

Modj says:

When re-installing the roller followers, how do you turn the crankshaft to get new cams onto base circle? or can you install all the roller followers without having to turn the crankshaft?

Keith Nijii says:

So when do you put the followers back in?

Mark Henry says:

Anyone know if you can align the cams, remove them and then set all the roller followers and remount the cam and pull it down with the cam cap bolts?

Austin Sir says:

I'm own a 2007 Lincoln navigator and majority of the parts on the list of parts provided on Amazon is telling me they won't fit. Last this I wanna do is buy all the parts the wrong parts, do i just trust the links provided or to i so with what Amazon suggests

Christopher Powell says:

I am doing a timing job replacing the camphasers and oil pump Replacement on a 2005 F250 super duty XLT With the 5.4 L 3V. You're 4 part video has been really helpful. I am in the beginning stages of part 4 and my question is Do I have to take all of the remaining roller followers out and the camshafts out like the video shows? Or can I just turn the crank shaft To the 10 o'clock position and put the special crankshaft tool in place, I already have the 3 roller follers out from each side,Please somebody anybody with some knowledge, please let me know. Please!!

southerngentleman251 says:

Thank you sir for the videos . They were a tremendous help in doing this job with confidence it was done right. It's not an easy job even with a mechanical knowledge and background. Thank you from – 251 South Alabama C.C.

Gone Ballistic says:

I'm halfway through this job now. I can't even count how many times I've watched the videos as I've worked through it. If this thing starts I'm buying myself some bsg t shirts

Mark Leppington says:

I see you're sooo worried about getting the crank key to 11'clock, the dot of the sprocket at 6. But then the timing is accomplished by the sheer tooth count/chain link count. So why can one not get the crank keystock to say 1030'clock or 1130'clock (not perfect by the fancy tool. Then simply advance/retard the cam accordingly to the chain/markings… I honestly want to know because i understand you don't want crank keystock at say 5'clock but why so stressed about that perfect 11'clock?

Motivation Is Key says:

Wanted to ask is their a way you recommend to clean the oil pick up while the pumps off?
