Great video of showing how to use the tool but every dealership I talk to
tells me to just “unscrew” the plug. Never go back and forth like that.
They say it’s too much wear on the plug it and cause it to weaken. But it’s
an awesome video on showing how to use the tool. Great job though. Keep on
keeping on in the automotive world buddy.

Removing broken spark plug is good video but I believe I have a plug thats
blown out of the head and I’ve never worked these newer automobiles before
and are a little intimidated its not brand new but it is new to me , have a
2001 ford expedition until I saw ur video I wasn’t sure how to remove plugs
but after seeing them break off it intimidates me even more and I can’t
afford to put it in shop so I’ve got to git – er done I suppose I’d like to
know where to locate those removal tools u had on video ?
hddm3 is actually wright get the engine hot and use the impact but on the
back passenger side might have to use this method.

When you showed the TSB page, it reads “5.4L 3-V Engine Build Dates before
10/9/07”
Ford says our 2008 Expedition’s VIN indicates December, 2007.
Is there any way to determine when the engine was manufactured?
This is an emergencyehicle used for transporting medical items. It must be

Personally, I would not buy any Ford with this type of spark plug or with
the heads that often blow the plugs out because of the lack of threads in
the cylinder heads. Hey Ford engineers! Is quality still job number one?
have to wonder why ford put stupid plugs like that in their trucks. pisses

i noticed the v10 excursion wasnt on the list. only a 2 valve head?
I would do it on a cold day. The metal will shrink a bit and come out
easier. By cold I mean a -20 Canadian winter day.

No, it’s not pointless. It keeps the new plugs from seizing in the head and
saves you the ass pain of going through this process. Don’t be such a troll.

I was fixing to change my plugs on my 5.4 triton and was watching videos on
how to do it and realized I was watching one of your videos. At first I
thought Autozone had given my wife the wrong plugs but as it turned out I
have a older engine that has the older plugs. My main problem was getting
the fuel rail to come loose without pulling the injectors out also. Great
information video.
Also it only took about 4 hours, and my truck has 135000 miles, so I dont
see hype on level of difficulty. I think my old third gen camaro was much
harder to change the plugs

Amazon. now I won’t have to have it towed to the dealer! I definitely put
anti-seize on all the plugs
Excellent to know but does anyone know if starting the car until the engine
is hot and the turning off engine until its warm to pull out the spark plug
really works. much cheaper you know.

Thanks for this video. I have the Lisle tool on the way after going through
the TSB on replacing the plugs on an 07 Mustang GT. 5 came out complete,
and three broke.
I should not assume everyone that watches this video owns an F150 with the
5.4l engine. So any forum for your model vehicle will get you the
information you need.
@welly1968 Ya tell me about it, but I can only use what they give me lol. I
told them about the better plugs but they don’t listen
I work for Ford and i change plugs in the 5.4 3 valve many times a day.This
gentleman is wrong with his statements.The little know trick to removing
the plug and NOT BREAKING ANY is to get the truck piping hot then replace
one bank of 4 plugs.then get the truck piping hot again and then do the
other bank.The key is to solidify the carbon ant they will come out.Try it
and you will see.

if those are on my car+ if the E3plugs will fit? Any and all help is great.
Would this still happen if the plugs on a 2005 5.4L Triton were removed at
82K miles? I’m familiar with changing plugs on a 2004 2V 6.8L V10 but we’ve
never had any issues with those. When it was new we removed the plugs and
put a film of anti-seize on them and torqued properly. But this 5.4L would
be a used vehicle purchase and I don’t know the history on the plugs.
“Might as well call it a three piece plug” ?? umm, yeah, it is a 3 piece
plug, hence the problems.
