Can make one too – I like to use OEM parts as much as my wallet can afford. lol

Mark Wolf says:

Its cheaper to build those hoses from about $10 of Fleet store parts. I build one for a 1996 Merc Sable.

Two things: 1.You look like a young John Belushi. 2. You make a good, informative video.

Alexander Cameron says:

It’s very possible, but without seeing it, it’s hard to say.

Alexander Cameron says:

You’re welcome! :)

rolltide585 says:

I just had to replace my PCV valve and was wondering, did yours have any type of grommet that holds the valve in the valve cover? I had the same error codes showing a massive vaccum leak and when I began looking i noticed the valve had come completely out of the valve cover. when I put it back, it just slid in and out with no resistance. the new one is a little more snug but i know older ones used a rubber grommet.

Alexander Cameron says:

It is clean, just dusty.

Hey ikeep throwin the same code…. I also have dome yellow crap under my oil cap on the passenger side… Has a exhaust leak at the back manifold bolt is snapped. Their is no coolant in the oil or vice versa. Misses hard sometimes at an idle too sometimes. An started when it got below 0. Any ideas? Havrnt checked that, hose yet either haha will this weekend. Thanks for the help too

Alexander Cameron says:

Not sure, I would suspect so as the engines are similar.

Michael White says:

is this an issue with 2004 F150’s?

John Cabral says:

If you only need the elbow on the tube Dorman makes it part # 46017. Advanced Auto sells it for $9.99 or on ebay for $11.95.

Alexander Cameron says:

– very true. thanks for the tip!

ClipperGoodwill says:

Nice video, only thing I recommend is taping or blocking off the opening of the intake manifold with the throttle body elbow removed. Last thing you want is to drop a piece of rubber or plastic down there while it’s wide open.

Alexander Cameron says:

– You can try that, it is a common problem on the F150 5.4s and 4.6s to have the elbow on the back of the intake manifold break after time. The rubber becomes brittle. My issue ended up being the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) was super dirty.

TheMrchukies says:

i have the same code problem on my truck p0171 generic system too lean bank 1, u think i should start by replacing the pcv tube?

Alexander Cameron says:

– Not sure totally, I believe it’s the same as the 5.4, you’ll probably have to take the upper and lower intake off and then the valve covers. The bolts for the heads are quite long so it may be fun getting in there to unbolt them.

Daniel Hoyt says:

do you know how to change the heads on a 97 f150 my driver side head had a blow out and needs to be replaced its a 4.6l triton v8
