I used to know a Scotty Kilmer. Did you ever run cross country in junior high and high school?
Had a 2013 back in 2017(bought used with 32,000 miles) and went to the dealer for repair 3 times in a year and let me stranded the 3 times got rid of the stupid thing. Almost got in a accident as well one time when the computer for the transmission went crazy.
Those dual clutch Ford's were sold on auction to crappy used car dealers in Puerto Rico. There's no lemon law in the island. That's why I take the public bus over there.
I like these guys still comparing ford with chevy nowadays, its all crap!!!

I had a 2013 Focus and it had 27-30k miles and the transmission clicked and locked and shuttered. its dangerous for sure. I laid my fist in the hood after it made me late for work and call the finance company to do a voluntary repo. There is no fixing that transmission it is faulty by design. no fixing that.
I still miss my 2018 Focus ST. That thing had such a sick paint job and interior for the price. It had the leather Recaro seats

I bought a used 2012 Ford Focus SE from Avis Car Sales with 30k mileage on it. Around 100,000, I had a clutch issue that cost me $1,800. I wasn’t upset by this. I thought it could be worse. After having the clutch replacement. There were no more problems. Like people previously have stated. The handling on this car was great, so fun to drive. This car had great low end torque. I finally sold the car at 130k for $3500. The transmission was an issue but otherwise a great car.

If you are thinking about buying one don't. It does have pep, it is fun to drive, gets good mpg but….
Slow traffic driving is horrible. It jults forward, shutters and I always felt it was going to leave me stranded. I don't know if it was transmission related but the accelerator acted funny and I had to pull over. It was kind of slipping and not acting right I shut the engine off for a while and got back on the expressway and it got me home thankfully. If you have a manual keep it but if you're thinking about buying an automatic I wouldn't, find something else. Too much drama for me in this car. I really wanted to like it. Mine was a 2014 Ford focus.
Mine also had a wiring issue that took a couple trips to the dealer and they finally repaired a couple wires that were worn because the harness was rubbing, I guess a known issue.
And I thought Honda made the worst transmission from 2001 to 2004 Odyssey V6 minivans. Almost everyone who had it had to replace the transmission
I think ALL Car Company Lawyers should be required to use Ford Focus's so most of them should get stuck on the road and NOT get to where they're going to SCREW the PUBLIC!!!
We bought one new in 2012. Sold it with 30k miles. From day one you could feel it skipping gears. The dealer said it’s learning you. But what if two people are driving it? I was leaving a business parking lot and started moving then it stalled in front of 45 mph traffic. Was waiting at a light on an incline, while in Drive, and it rolled back. Thank goodness no one was behind me. If we got a manual transmission then we’d probably still have it. Oh but that annoying chime when getting in.
We purchased a new 2014 Ford Focus with this transmission and had shifting problems from day one. We took it back to the dealer several times during the first year of ownership for transmission repairs and reprogramming. After the third or fourth attempt by the dealer to repair the transmission, they told us "It's the best we can get it to shift." In other words, Ford told us that we just have to live with it and nothing else they could do, not what you want to hear when you buy a brand-new car. Other than the transmission issues it wasn't a bad car. Probably won't be buying another Ford.
What about Nissan CVTs though?

Always good to test drive a car before buying it. Especially if some "new" mechanical design.
The dumbest thing Ford ever did was to quit making cars that everyone can afford.
