good job that is the easiest way to do it, i wanted to do that when i did this project but wasn’t sure exactly where to drill……

Terry Frost says:

I ended up not need up.have photos if anyone is interested.

Terry Frost says:

Well the inspection camera didn’t work like I hoped. 🙁 I need up just removing the radio and center dash bezel and drilling a 4″ hole with a hole saw. Worked great! I was able to get my hand inside to pull the stuck foam out no problem. I then siliconed a piece of plastic over the hole so next time it happens, I just peel back the plastic. Took 45 minutes total to do this job, and I could easily get my 1/2″ drill and 4″ hole saw to the location…..lots of room behind the radio!

Bullshitkorner says:

that is a excellent idea, I actually wanted to do that but my inspection camera had shit the bed so i had to do it the hard way. the biggest issue is that the foam gets stuck on the side and it’s hard to pull off. if you wanted to cheat you could cut the hvac open with a dremel and then just fab a new cover to fill the hole

Terry Frost says:

What are your thoughts on an inspection camera? Snake the probe down the defroster vents in the top of the dash and see on the 3 inch color LCD screen the foam blocking the flap? Then snake a remote pickup took grabber to remove the foam.

113 last year…only 67 this year..and you are right. most of them have mange too… they will soon be gone like that jack rabbits are…keep your videos coming…not only are they comical, they are informative…be good!

Bullshitkorner says:

I wasn’t hating on your either i was just making a joke out of the comment. your way would have been way easier. you guys must have quite the coyote problem down your way. we have a few coyote’s here but they don’t pose much of a problem. usually they get mange and the winter kills them off

1969tss says:

im a coyote hunterin minnesota and have a permit to shoot out the window of my truck…with hookers in my back seat…im not hating on your video by any means..you did it the right way…i did it the easy way..

Bullshitkorner says:

how the hell did your vents get full of .223 casings, it better have involved a robbery of some sorts and a drive by shooting while pounding back some malt liquor with a couple of hookers in the back seat

1969tss says:

i just cut a hole thru the plastic…mine were full of .223 shell casings…it sounded like a fuckin casino in my truck…after fishing out 38 casings i just put the piece of plastic back and duct taped it…its a hell of alot easier than pulling the dash all apart…however if you like to drink beer your way is better!

Bullshitkorner says:

ya it wasn’t a fun job trust me

rijivit says:

What a bitch

Bullshitkorner says:

no your issue sounds more like the blend door that mixes the hot and cold air, that problem is way easier and quicker to fix as it should only involve removing the stereo and heater controls to get at

Casey Melton says:

great video, on my 08 diesel the driver side vents work as they should but the passenger side will blow warm if the AC is on and cool if heat is on? Doyou think its the same type of problem? Thanks

Bullshitkorner says:

i just close my vents as well, I could have replaced the foam on the doors but didn’t want to go though this hassle all over again

jcjc2u says:

Thanks for the Videos man! My floor and defrost still select fine but have very little pressure. If I just close off my main vents then I get the pressure I need for defrost. So after watching this video I will just keep closing my vents! Thanks tho!

badderthanyou says:

Love this guys attitude!

Bullshitkorner says:

good luck, let me know how it goes for you

johnnyneu1 says:

Great job making that video, hopefully mine will go as smoothly. Thanks

Bullshitkorner says:

i was a bit nervous as well but as long as there isn’t power going to those wires it won’t blow off, but as always a person should always disconnect the battery to avoid injury or death

GrandCaravanSE says:

Damn, I would have been scared shitless working around airbags with the battery still connected.
