NO BEER when you use an air gun.
Great design, Ford idiotgineers. Make a two-piece spark plug that breaks
off in the cylinder head. Brilliant.
I plan to SOAK the old plugs in my ’08 Expedition 5.4L. with carbon solvent
to soften the carbon before I HAND LOOSEN and remove the plugs. (I
don’t own an air gun.)
Can I buy this extractor from an auto parts store and return it if unused?

TOM ERWIN says:

crack a brew and keep on drinkin lol ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, friggin
Canadian………….

TheVegas890 says:

Please watch my videos on my truck where i show whats wrong with it.

Nick Stambaugh says:

Congrats man!

I have been dreading the day that I decide to take this project on.

I wonder if the reason you didn’t break them off is because 6 of them were
newer…?

Do you think the SeaFoam helped much or not?

Niceshot1385 says:

Cool thanks dude.

fordwindsor351 says:

Congrats on getting them all out without breaking any. Antiseize on todays
plugs is not needed. Its just an old tradition that for some reason is
still being done. Worked at a dealership where we got notices on the
matter, newer plugs since late 90s to early 2000s are made with a plating
that acts like antiseize. Using it will give untrue torque values.

Lorenzo Merlos says:

Why do these break so easily and how do they beeak?

Legos37 says:

Also for me, I did not use SeaFoam, just ran a bottle of Techron in the gas
tank.

ManicMechanic007 says:

I too was skeptical about using the 3/8″ impact to remove plugs. It works
like a charm every time. You will have to let us know how those champion
plugs work with the F150 after a while.
Thanks for sharing.

Steve O says:

Can I buy your kit off you??

JustAConservativeNerd says:

I bought an ’07 F150 with this engine abut 2 years ago. I negotiated for
the dealer (Ford) to replace the plugs as part of the purchase – which they
did. Do you think the plugs they replaced them with are still susceptible
to breaking?

Дмитрий Бубликов says:

+like from me

Timberlinetown says:

Always something with the F-150’s!! I had a 2002 F-150 with the 5.4L a
while back and was always nervous from how those years were famous for
blowing out spark plugs. Luckily, nothing ever happened. Then I stepped
up to a 2004 F-150 and as you had in this video, the plugs were a pain in
the ass to deal with. Got rid of that rig at only about 57,000 miles as
the tranny had already needed to be replaced. The previous owner must have
really trashed on it or something as I only owned it about 6 month before I
had to empty my pockets on that shit show!!

Brute Triton says:

I blew 3:10…….oh you devil

dufftime says:

ha i knew you were gonna “crack a fuckin beer” after you got all the plugs
out. congrats man!

TheVegas890 says:

What plugs do you recommend on using? I put in E3 spark plugs but I’m not
having any luck I put in ACCELS coils and it still has the problem but you
can hear the engine run better. I am planning on buying the motorcraft
plugs, but i still want to know if buying these will help my problem.

Legos37 says:

In my opinion, it’s mainly the impact that saves the day. I also used
impact with none breaking.

Niceshot1385 says:

Guess you didn’t see my question?

Brute Triton says:

me and my entire family are interested in a orgy with you, eh buddy? Ford
learned their lessons my truck is a late 2008 and i have a normal plug,
SP509

Legos37 says:

And engine hot, seems like these are key ingredients in a success.

mike02207 says:

how many miles/ kilometers on it ?

Niceshot1385 says:

Ok 2 quick questions. First did your truck start to miss orsomething or did
you just decide to change them

Also, did you get the engine up to operating tempurature before starting
the job? Thanks.
