Heh Jimmy. Sorry about this catastrophe of an engine, friend. Watching and supporting you however I can. This is an opportunity for me to learn more from you as you do the part rebuild of this engine. Reminds me a lot of VGG who does tons of these and revivals. My temperament and attitude is more like his.

Wowee! This is crazy. Is there a point that you would "stop throwing good money after bad?" The names Sno Ball and Gob Stopper are a little negative. Maybe a better more positive name might be, "Might as well." Just like Forrest Gump, " figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going." Like when talking about tappets vs. rollers, "Since I've already went this far, I might as well use roller rockers." LOL…

Oh damn Jimmy , I feel for you, that kind of aggravation just makes you sick, you have a great attitude towards it though. I have watched all these truck videos I feel your pain. Not near as much as you of course but I have been there. Make it work!
Whoever did that needs their tools taken away.The old Chrysler 440 and 426 Hemi engines,they lost horse power with headers on them.The factory hp manifolds outperformed them
I think it had rust in the cylinders and was bored/honed after the fact. That' what those "stains" are.

Jimmy please check the fuel filler cap, not venting, causing too much pressure on needle and seat .A friend of mine lost his cap at gas station Bought replacement at a Carquest ,which was not right ,causing flooding at start up .And then later hydro-lock bent rod ,broken piston and block. A $7.00 cap.

Considering all the other hokey "engineering" you've encountered with this truck, you might as well check the rotating assembly. The engine is on the stand. You're already swimming in the deep end so you might as well go all the way.
