There is some flickering on start-up but it quickly subsides. I’ve got over 30,000 miles on this setup and I don’t have any issues- which is a testament to Bill’s build quality and choice in hardware. No issues with housing fitment.
have you had an issue with the headlight housing not sitting right?
Very nice work! Any issues? What about the overall cost?
Have you had any flickering issue?
What does this cost?
great looking truck
The pricing is on Bilinvic’s website. Link is in the description.
Hii very nice , I just got a 2012 platinium and I would really like to have hid projector because the stock one just … suck ! 😛 Can you tell me the total cost for the installation roughly ?
i have 5000k morimotos bulbs and they are not yellow at all. they are super white. kind of like audi xenons. their 4300k are halogen color
Still yellowish
Ignore me…every time I have a question, I seem to answer it myself by looking at your description..Well thanks again Nixx, you’ve made my day..must have watched your video 8 times today hahaha
Even though Bilinvic’s pricing website has this listed as an option, is the Motocontrol H13 Bi-Xenon Wire Harness necessary? It sounds like it is necessary considering I’m doing a bi-xenon setup
I did not have to remove anything else except the headlights and the screw that holds the rubber “flaps” on either side of the grill. I ran the wiring without removing anything either.. I just tucked it under the plastic cover on the radiator.
These lights are bi-xenon. The highbeams work just like normal. Pull the stalk and they will light up (like you are flashing somebody)- push it away and they stay on. Basically, there is a shield that moves inside the light- allowing more light through.
That’s fantastic nixx I appreciate it..How long did the installation take you roughly? Did you have to remove any paneling/bumper, etc (besides the headlight housings themselves) to run the wiring? Last question (can’t guarantee that lol): do you even have highbeams anymore? What happens when you flip the hi-beam/lo-beam switch?
Thanks- I really like these lights. They are very bright, the cutoff is laser sharp and they look factory. I’ve added a link to his home page (which includes pricing) in my description.
well I see what you said was included in the “HID kit” haha so I guess what I’m simply asking is roughly what you paid for your setup?
What would you say you paid all-in-all NOT including the ‘core credit’? and did that total include ballasts, bulbs, etc?
Thanks for getting back with me so quick, I’ve been looking for some lights as great as your’s
It only took a couple of weeks for him to build them for me. He does this as a hobby so the lead time can vary. He responds quickly to e-mails and PMs on the f150 forums.
He built my lights using a relatively new pair of OEM lights he had in stock. He offers a ‘core credit’ if you send him your old, clean lights. He can also sell you new OEM lights.
Shroud extensions are on the side of the projectors and hide the wiring/mounting hardware behind the lens. It makes it look OEM.It’s a must have.
Awesome retrofit, I must say! I just got my 2011 F-150 platinum and was a little surprised that for being a “luxury” truck, projectors did not come with it. I’ve looked into Bilinvic since watching your video and have a couple of questions for you and I hope you’ll bear with me!
*About how long did it take for him to complete your retrofit?
*Did you send him some headlight housings, or did you have him use some OEM headlights that he provided?
*What do the shroud extensions do?
