Here is a nice tip to MAKE THE DOOR INSTALL BACK ON EASY. When the door is
off, Push the small round rod guide up and out from underneath. Then when
putting back on you have a larger hole for the door lock rod to go through
and then just snap round guide back on into hole over tip of black plastic
rod.
thanks for doing this video, really didnt want to tear apart a new truck,
to find out how to do it. i feel bad for you man, you poor bastard having
to work in the snow….
Thanks Jordan. Removed door panel successfully and even better, put it back
again, with new mirror attached. Note to self: easier not to bust the
mirror in the first place.
There are several posts on f150 forum on how to install an amp including a
sound processor without losing the sync. All that it basically involves is
splicing into the stock speaker wires in the side pillars. doesnt sound
that difficult but i can see it being a pain
@Rufeorufeo ya no problem man, yeah well while i was searching for all this
information it was hard to find. So i gathered up all the intructions
people have written out. And when I do the rest of the install when the
weather is warmer in march, I will make another video on how to remove all
the panels, and how I ran my wiring. Again I’m not an expert, but I do alot
of reading about stuff like this to try and figure it out by myself.
Bravo Macaboo! I needed to change out the side view mirror and you saved me
about $225 (dealer wanted $500 to do it). The mirror units are pretty
fragile(not the glass itself but the way it mounts to the assembly) so a
lot of people will probably appreciate your video. Its the first I’ve seen
dealing with the 2010 models.
I didnt know if you used your factory head unit or not and had any
problems. I was just trying to avoid replacing mine but probably will
before long. I might look in to what you were talking about too. Thanks.
Very cool, please let me know how that adapter works out for you and how
you installed it. Guess you plan on mounting some mdf board behind your
rear seats and placing the amps there?
@scottyV1000 Nice nice yeah the lock lining up was the trickiest part. Glad
you could use some my info. Swapping the speakers is almost a “must” for
every F-150 owner lol.
I have an F150 2011. I don’t want to run an amp or sub at this time. Would
you reccomend those infinities? I’m like you, I don’t want to drill holes
in a brand new expensive truck. But bestbuy has kicker 6×8 components for
$70 a pair, great deal. I figure the infinities would be better because
they are 2 ohm. Kickers are 4 ohm. Which ones do you think would sound
better? I’m new to car audio. Thanks in advance.
Great vid, Thanks! Are you happy you went with Infinity? Any other
suggestions? Trying to decide which brand to put in my Fx4. Can’t believe
how disappointing the factory speakers are!
Thanks man, This helped a lot. I put the same speakers in my 2011 F150
Ecoboost. I have a Supercab so the back doors were a little more involved
but i had considerably better weather than you did. I noticed the factory
HU must pump more power to the fronts as they seem a lot louder. when you
fade from front to back. A little trick to make getting the lock pull lined
up is to unscrew the plastic knob, get the door panel on and then screw the
plastic knob back on.
And id also like to point out your the only person who posted a video on
how to do this and I’m sure many people are grateful, including myself.
Again thank you for taking the time to make it and also being in that
crappy weather haha
So if i just replace the speakers and not the HU will I be wasting my time?
Should i add an amp to the new speakers?, and if i do, do i need any other
wires?should i go w/ component or coaxial? i know its alot of questions,
but need to know otherwise, im stuck w/ shitty stock speakers its almost
summertime, wanna be sounding nice
i had dropped this little clip that the crew behind the handle goes into
into the door panel.. it took me 10 mins to remove and change the speaker,
and 1 1/2 hrs to find that stupid clip!
What door trim removal kit did you buy to do this?
Did you have any issues with rattles around the door?
Great video Jordan, thanks for making it and sharing!

definitely helped out, except speakers I want to change mirrors from west
coast trailor mirrors to standard style. thanx for the help.
Good video! Just what I needed but I have one question. You clipped the
black and white wire, which one is positive and which is negative?
Best video I have found….clear and easy to follow along with
Dude it’s snowing! Nonetheless great tutorial.

Awesome video, gonna try installing my Infinities in my F150 tomorrow!
Good shit man….Gave me some inspiration to actually have some confidence
in changing out my whack Sony stockers.

Awesome! Had my rear door panel off in about 10 mins with the help of this
video! Great video man and Thanks!
Great videos – thanks for the info! Did you connect an amp to the door
speakers as well, or just let the factory head unit power them?
And id also like to point out your the only person who posted a video on
