First day of working on the Project Ferrari F430 and I take on one of the most common problems with Ferraris in hot climates – the dreaded sticky buttons. I remove and clean up all of the buttons that are sticky, and some of them I coat with plasti-dip to help give them a fresh new look and so they retain a soft touch feeling.

I know of a Ferrari 550 in the UK that a friend wants to sell. Its not advertised anywhere just sat in storage, he has told me he would like to sell it but doesn't want the hassle. He doesn't need the money. Would you be interested?

Its about a tear later…Did the Plasi-dip hold-up?

JustMe9 says:

makeup remover pads work better than rubbing alcohol

M King says:

Wear a mask when you spray, your lungs will thank you. Give as much time as possibly to the parts you sprayed allowing them to cure and firm up – the longer the better. If you handle the parts before cured you do so at your peril as the part coating is very fragile until cured and is easily damaged by a wayward screwdriver, or by the pressure of your hand if pushing too hard. I think you realized you don't need to loosen the dash to remove the air vents, which are very difficult to properly reassemble back in. correctly. Do not play with the directional air switch at all costs. If you do move the directional air vent piece it will have you eventually just giving up and putting the vents back in without dealing with the directional switch. Take my word for it don't touch it. The vents are reinstalled with the air flow arrows closest to the windshield on the top, there's also a cut out slot it will fit in to when properly aligned. A good firm tap will pop them in but be careful you don't break the carbon fiber. Yes I do this for a living.

Aaron Runalls says:

If this happened to a Corvette every would scream

Keith Jeske says:

Nice job on those they look great. I like that you’re taking care of all the little repairs before selling it

matiyanke says:

why did you use plastidip? the minimum contact is damaged. the best would have been a paint for plastics. (rust oleum)

paraunasahb says:

That's pretty shitty build quality considering how much these cars cost

Sean A. says:

This is perfect timing Dan, I need to clean up my HAVC controls on my F 430 so can’t wait to see the next video.

Mike Morrissey says:

Nice Video Dan, not easy work but very rewarding, I’ve done a lot of it too. Does the Plastic Dip have a similar soft touch feel? I haven’t used it but have considered it.

Frank LoMonaco says:

I like that you respond to your viewers, not many that.Keep it up Dan.

Frank LoMonaco says:
