Hey scotty, I cleaned the throttle on my cobalt. Stupid me, I didnt take
precaution. I stuck my finger in to open. Now idles @ 2000 rpm. Is it
hooped? I asked dealer to do only relearn. Didnt do anything. Do I need
more diognostics to see if toast? Can I replace it with a wrecker
throttle??

I have a question about torque converter, im experiencing gear 5 to 6 shift
flare around 42mph upshift. It only flares when im light on throttle and
upshift below 2k rpm. Rpm will flare up 300 to 500 before it shifts, feel
like car got put in neutrel. I noticed above 2k rpm it will not flare. I
looking around internet and found it might be related to torque converter
locking up in low rpm? i dont know if its true, whats your take on it? My
car is a 13′ Mustang Automatic.
On a similar note, is there anything that is known to go wrong with a car
like my 02 Camry so I know what to look out for?
Tighten to snug? I think it needs to be torqued to a specific spec or it
could end up being too loose,or warped If over tightened.

When I turn it on especially, I hear a high pitched noise, and from time to
time when driving a scratching noise. Sounds like on the drivers side. I
think the belts are getting old though.

What the heck is the sense of replacing the throttle body yourself if you
still have to go to a garage to reset the damn thing… I am sure the
Garage will love you so much that they will charge you double to reset it.
Garages today squeeze every little bit out of every job. I can remember
when my Garage would change fuse, small lights, ect for free. now
everything has a price on it.

I would never buy a car with electronic throttle. I don’t understand how an
electric motor and wires is better than a mechanically linked steel cable.
I swear not just with cars but with everything “they” make changes just to
justify somebody’s lame engineering job.

body? my car’s a bit older than this =P
Oh and it’s not modern engineering Scotty, it’s modern “brains” for you,
people who call themselves engineers and so on think they’re more special
because they make things more fussy or more complicated… stupid bell

Hi Scotty, is mixing synthetic oil into a car that takes conventional a bad
thing to do? I personally don’t think its smart. But , i hear people say

throttle body, is there a special cleaner for hondas or i can pick any

It’s great how these cars are designed in a way that if anything goes
wrong, you have to go to a dealer to get the car repaired. That’s why I
like the older cars, plus its easy to mod the older cars. I drive a 96
Honda Accord with over 250,000 miles on it and its still running strong, as
long as you maintain the car, the car will work fine. Even with the repairs

Hey Scotty, what brand scan tool would you recommend for a BMW? 1996 to
1998 e36 specifically. I look up scan tools and read mixed reviews. The
Peake Scan tool is made for the car, but it doesnt seem to do things like
live data. Any ideas? Thank you
Hey Scotty, I have a 2005 Silverado 5.3L(same exact engine as the one in
this vid). There is a loud grinding/whining noise when its running. I think
the alternator bearings are bad. I’m thinking about replacing the
alternator. For some reason the whining noise varies by RPM. If I start
driving the whining noise will change.
So my question is, is alternator the issue here? or is there something
else, along with the alternator, that needs to be replaced? Does alternator
speed(if thats a thing) vary by engine RPM?

Hello Scotty, I’ve Nissan Pathfinder 2003 with VQ35DE engine. The car runs
fine, no CEL codes appear on the scanner, but it has some problem. When the
engine is cold, car starts fine. If I drive it some time and shut off the
engine and try to start the car, it seems to start fine but then tachometer
gauge goes down (300-600 rpm). Sometimes it survives shut off but most
times it shuts of. If I help with gas pedal when I see this behaviour idle
speed goes to normal. Is it throttle body?

the rpms is surging up and down even when I’m driving I dint get the new re

Hey Scotty on the dashboard of this video the exclamation point was
blinking. Now my car does that and I looked on Google to see what it may
have been and I had two answers. 1. Low pressure with the possibility the
sensor is either bad or a nail in the tire. And 2. Transmission fluid needs
changing. What could be the possible problem?

Hi how do I take out the threads out of the engine block where the spark
plug goes one of my sparks plugs just came right out n now I can’t screw a
new one in cuz someone put atached thread to the plug in it Is stuck in
there how can I take it out please
Those all purpose car auto code scanners are becoming cheaper every month,
bought one the other day for $100. If You really want to go the cheap way
and you have a good laptop computer you can just buy the OBD2 Scan Tool
software and just buy the USB adapters. The software and usb adapter will
run you roughly $100 maybe cheaper.

And this is exactly why I will NEVER get rid of my Ford Crown
Victoria…..Nothing beats an old fashioned throttle cable. They are far
more reliable, simple, and better. My fiancé has an electronic throttle in
her Mini Cooper….There is a delay from when I hit the gas to when the car
actually moves….Whereas on my Crown Victoria, its instant power. To hell
with modern engineering. I will take old school, reliable technology over
modern unreliable engineering any day.

there’s probably some exotic engineering reason to have an learned idle
system, probably for efficiency reasons….its still silly
CAFE standards (what’s forcing automakers to meet pretty obscene efficiency
numbers) are making modern cars pretty disposable and horrible to upkeep.
