Ferrari F430 Installing skid plates and replacing the position indicator

I install skidplates on the front bumper to prevent further damage. I also replace the position indicator as it was burned out.

I guess some would think it's wierd watching you work ,but it's strangely entertaining!!…lol!

Jeremy M says:

Thanks for the informative vid. Seems like you put a lot of work into doing it and even more so just for youtube viewers. Wanted to say thank you. 🙂

Commentor1 says:

I would have put some touch-up paint on the outer portions of the damaged paint area, so that it would be harder to see the damage under the skid plates.

Also, for future reference, you can drill a small (pilot) hole before drilling the larger hole to increase accuracy. You can see in the video that the large drill bit is moving all over when you start to drill.

That's all for my critiquing. Carry on, everyone else lol.

Kevin Long says:

AGGHH!!!!! I wish I had seen this video a few days ago when my car was in the body shop getting a bumper crack fixed before it gets delivered. I think I'm going to look into the tape. I can't even fathom drilling into my yet to be received car. Understand why you did, of course.

bradleja says:

Good for you, Daniel!  By replacing the bulb you saved yourself $265, which is what the dealer would have charged you.  I would know.  HA!!

SLVRFOX88 says:

I would have used rivet nuts

Thomas Sleigh says:

just want to say. I feel your pain. why is it always so awkward! bruised and battered knuckles everytime.

Cj Daigle says:

Great Job when you do take that bumper off, you might want to look into getting that exposed fiberglass filled with resin.

Jason Grady says:

Looking forward to the check that permits you to correct the damage. Figure what, $2k?

Dwayne Rose says:

Love the DIY segments

dub Walker says:

go for the euro horn Stanley. It will sound great

Bob P says:

Hey Dan, I was impressed with the way you handled the flexible grabber. Have you ever tried taping nuts and washers to the wrench? Not sure but it may have been easier for the skid plate install.

GTpro says:

so that's called a position indicator? Like a turn signal? I always thought those lights were like daytime running lights or something…actually I wasn't even 100% sure any bulbs went in that sliver in the headlight at all. I always wondered what those were in the headlights.

Jeffrey B says:

Can you start putting the web sites that you use for parts in the description?! Love these vids where u work on your car!

Paul Rigg says:

Nice video Daniel. The knowledge I am learning from you will save me a fortune on my 430.

GTpro says:

If you hadn't gotten those skid plates, sooner or later I would have sent you a link for some random carbon fiber skid plates I found for the 430 on accident. lol

Rupert Migtau says:

Does anybody know what to do, when the screen washer warning light doesn't go off in a 360 Modena, though the washer tank is filled up ? Do I have to put down the front bumper in order to fix it ? Cheers

Connor Davila says:

what is the tool you used at 8:45? You put the nut on the tool to hold it in place

Patrick94GSR says:

Roof work while raining? Seems a bit odd. I've never heard the term "position indicator markers". Are those not the daytime running lights?

Peter Joseph says:

Nice job. I have the same problem with the viper. I'm going to see if I can find them for the viper.

Jared Boice says:

Nice!!!! I think those bumpers looks great! Well worth the pain and frustration lmao

Jeff Boen says:

Cool. Glad to see you took that step. Mine have been invaluable.

ariyapol prasertsilps says:

Hey Daniel, You should've used 3M automotive tape. That thing is strong.
