Drive Wheaton says:

Want to know how to make your engine sparkle like the ones in our
showrooms? Here’s a great video to show you how to properly clean and
detail an engine: http://bit.ly/17eXGcd

neuronbob says:

Thank you for this. I’ve cleaned under the hood of my car and did local
cleaning of reachable engine components, but I have not had the cahones to
hose it down. Always looking for ways to keep the engine clean….

SunDownPoint says:

Wow, and you’re not an ignorant trash bag who knows nothing of cars huh?

5571350M8 says:

Massive capacity? Pathetic performance? Someone is ignorant and biased…
In terms of displacement the engine is large, but due to its pushrod
valvetrain, chances are its exterior dimensions are smaller than that of
the 458 engine, and it’s probably lighter as well. You could buy that car
in late 2005, so 505 bhp and 470 lb ft of tq is pretty good, especially
when the torque is that high and wide over the RPM range, whereas a
comparable DOHC engine would have less and a higher center of gravity.

Kelly Fontes says:

You only need to really do this in climates like New York with terrible
weather.

taylor wagneers says:

Awesome video

Alec D. says:

I like the description at 1:20. That’s the first time I’ve seen anyone
properly write the ZO6’s LS7 engine as having 428 cubic inches of
displacement because technically, that is exactly what it is.

Winston Timmermans says:

hahahahahahaha

Philly Blunt says:

Degreaser and pressure washer….fuck that toothbrush.

DoctaM3 says:

Larry, I honestly love every one of your videos. So informative a series
this is, I can’t wait for each one to come out. I am pretty good at caring
for my cars but YOU have taken my knowledge to a whole different level. You
are a true gem on /DRIVE. Collectively as a car community, I say THANKS and
keep up the great work!

Freddie Lenoch says:

I salute you for commenting on YouTube, while simultaneously having correct
grammar.

Freddie Lenoch says:

Try tweeting at him. Not sure if he wades through the hundreds, if not,
thousands of comments he gets.

devildad1620 says:

Step 1) go for a drive to get the engine up to operating temp. Step 2)
Drown it in Simple Green and wait for it to cool to the point it’s not
steaming any more. Step 3) Rinse off with the hose. step 4) ??? step 5)
Profit.

Guillermo Power says:

We have three different styles: sports car, sports car and finally sports
car.

Aearonjer Circumstance says:

Good common sense tips. Learnt some of these the hard way as a kid. 🙂

Phil Lorenzelli says:

he lost his footage

macman113 says:

You obviously don’t watch any of the videos on his channel. So many
ignorant people these days.

Ethan Nicosia says:

If you actually care about paint and detailing to this extent (like me),
the cars normally don’t get insanely dirty. That’s kinda the point.

Deo Blas says:

Good idea! Thanks man.

Berksmash says:

I’m working on cleaning my ’94 Toyota pickup 4×4 that has years of caked on
mud. I think it’s worth it even though it gets dirty again whenever I take
it out for some fun.

nipponcarisbestcar says:

These engines are already clean. I’d like to see someone tackling a bay
with 20 years of dirt that’s never been washed.

applehugger says:

So… that Ferrari is not rear-engined. It’s mid-engined.

TheSighBored says:

Nice video Larry, but you need to step up the game a little.. Start working
on really dirty cars, they don’t have to be supercars, regular cars are
fine, I think people can relate more if you worked on regular cars once a
while. I agree with the other comments, you should feature Chris Harris’ S4
and do a complete job on it, blow Chris’ mind away with your detailing
work. Challenge accepted? 🙂

Aleks S says:

Your car does not have soul … Only Alfa Romeo have soul …

plateofshrimp says:

I fell asleep when you said dirty Toyota

Alexandre Ramirez says:

Love the tips on engine cleaning, but how would you best recommend cleaning
the bay of say a Mazdaspeed 3 where there is a top mounted intercooler and
the alternator is at the bottom of the engine? I don’t want the water to
drip down off the sides of the engine into the alternator but there really
isn’t a way to cover it.

5571350M8 says:

I also have a C5 Z06, but I no longer get 30 now that I have a Vortech haha

BaylorCamaro says:

Great info. I never did much engine cleaning. Just basic stuff, good tips.

Vill Pill says:

Read if you can 4 seater two doors v8 engine. That’s a muscle car

MCADJim says:

Great tips! I’ve always been kind of afraid to do this because I was never
really sure what to do.

bboyadonay says:

Will H. says:
