Restore damaged IMRC wiring with Dorman’s OE FIX repair kit

The intake manifold runner control, or IMRC, on many V8-equipped Dodge, Chrysler and Ram vehicles often fails because there is not enough slack in the wiring harness. This can result in a loose connection to the short runner valve (SRV), as well as a failure of the short runner valve. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) for this failure may include P1004, P2016 or P2017.

The manufacturer issued technical service bulletin (TSB) 18-003-10 explaining the nature of this failure and a recommended remedy. Dorman’s OE FIX repair kit 911-933 was designed to simplify the repair procedure for this problem with a new pigtail connector and wiring to add proper length to the original harness.

In this video, Dorman’s technicians demonstrate how to remove the intake manifold, locate the IMRC and repair the affected wiring harness, as well as how to replace the IMRC.
