It’s easier on Fords… You don’t have to remove the whole hub/bearing
assembly just to change the rotor.

Succubus1992 says:

not to be snied, well ok I’ll be snied .. who designed this crap … I
appreciate the video explaining all this, but really could have been
designed better and easier to work on … thanks for posing this, I was
getting the big hammer ready . ;))

jjenson2006 says:

When you put it back on, make sure you coat the mating surfaces with
never-seize so you don’t have trouble removing it the next time!

sbakar says:

@bhstone1 If you listen carefully, you can hear him talking.

DAQUAN88 says:

Great tip for a DIY but i like to use these!!!!!!!!!!!! PS love your video’s

PREPAREORSUFFER says:

OTC makes a tool to remove those rotors !!

bhstone1 says:

@sbakar I remain unconvinced. 🙂

NvDubs250 says:

@IAmMoparNut I have this problem right now and the rotor won’t come apart
from the bearing it gets stuck on there real good. I can’t get mine
separated from it.

Jamie Dodd says:

@DAQUAN88 Great idea, thanks I’ll have to try that.

Garnett M. says:

Not like making life difficult .

tinydx95t2 says:

Thats a great tip.It definitely makes it easier.I like the fact that you
don’t have to beat the rotor and put allot of unnecessary pressure on the
bearing so you can reuse it.

Adam Alsnayyan says:

Captive rotors are the most tedious design!

tank2232 says:

@dmorley100 they make one for the 03 and up lisle makes a air hammer
adaptor for these.

wesley5138 says:

Nice tip I may have to use some day !

IAmMoparNut says:

Oh, and btw, why are you removing the bearing to replace the rotor? You can
remove the rotor separately ( and relatively easily) without ever touching
the bearing.

briansmobile1 says:

Also for all those finger fretters- you can leave the socket on the bolt
and the extension in the socket to hold it in place without your hand being
in there. It also enables you to do it with just yourself.

GammaCruxis says:

Wont heating ruin the bearing though?

MRSAMMYMARKS says:

Too dangerous

01ps says:

Lisle makes a couple of air hammer bits that fit over the head of the bolt
and hammer on the flange to loosen dodge hubs. With a decent air hammer
I’ve never had a problem, and then its a one man job.

Jamie Dodd says:

Great tip. Could you do a similar video on how to remove stubborn rear
brake drums from a 4th generation (2001-2007) Dodge Caravan? I spent 3
hours beating one with a hammer just to remove it, luckily for the customer
I didn’t charge for the extra time.

hp11208 says:

GMC/DODGE VEHICLES MOSTLY THE ROTOR AND HUBS ARE LIKE THESE

DAQUAN88 says:

@jamiedodd1991 you can use an air hammer with a flat tip bit!!!! Work’s
great!!!!

mrmoparlover says:

im ganna go try this right now…snap on!

bhstone1 says:

@sbakar Yes. 🙂

hp11208 says:

Hold that extention with a long needle nose pliers

IAmMoparNut says:

Works far better (and safer) by using a small hammer head instead of
extensions…

ratrace2p51 says:

Why not just get a hydralic ram and push it off

DAQUAN88 says:
